hello. Newbie here. I have 6 plants flowering in one room and 8 plants vegging in another room about 12 feet away. I think my veggies are flowering and I don't want them to.. I can't sit more than 6 under the LEDs I have for flowering. is it possible for them to flower under floras? are my veggies too close to my flowers? I have attached some pictures of the veggies I noticed this afternoon. and just now tonight, I am seeing a second and possibly a 3rd one doing the same. do all these pistils appearing mean that it's starting to flower? If so, what can i o to stop it being that i can't afford more lights yet.

I have another light for flowering but its an hp and will only host 1 maybe two plants :-( And a friend gave me an mh set up without a glass screen so the fan does not recirculate the hot air the mh bulb emits. Even i resolve the glass issue.... Can i mix all 3 of these in the flowering room?

Im happy to read more on it but the key words that I am selecting are not pointing me in the right direction. If somebody could point me in the right direction, I will read away. :) Thank you in advance to everyone who can help or give me some insight.

what hours have you got your veg lights on? how close is it to the flower room?

you want to use MH for veg not flowering.. not to sure if i misunderstood you there though..

but you can use the MH for flowering if you like i have seen it before.. but would recomend going HPS..

but in answer to that yes you can mix lights and such.. i know some people that will use a MH and fluros in a veg room..

Hi. Yes u can flower under flourcents and MH, but if u go with mh be sure ur temps is okay.
And yes seems like ur lady starting to flower. What are ur light schedule? Try with 18/6 or 20/4 for veg, works well. Be carefull mix the light in middle of growth, ive done it and my crop did go bananas. (Started to veg in middle of flower when I gave the lady an extra cfl to the existing hps).

yes you can use MH and fluro for flowering but would you personally?

some folks use MH as it offers a different cannabinoid profile to HPS, some say it make weed more trippy/psychedelic (closer to equatorial light) and this years cup winner by Chunky Pigs (OGKB2.0) was done under MH.. I never used them myself but I DO use those HPS that have a bit of blue in them :)

My feeling is that the sun comes with a whole range of light (Red, Blue, UV a, UV b and all that) so the closer we can get to replicating that the better... I just been reading about a new (professional/greenhouse) LED array that you can programme to recreate different regions in terms of light temperature and hours etc, over the course of a flowering period it will extend and shorten light hours more gradually, as in nature... very interesting reading... if I can find the link, I'll post it.

I started vegging under t8 flo and growth was nice and green, I had the lights about 2 inches from the top of the plant and got a okay plant , now same plant under 1000 watt mh she exploded, started seeds under the 1000 watt mh and its so compact leaves are dame near setting on each other very different growth, if u use flo my advice to u is train train train your plants so light hits the other grow tips srcog or lst them. I lst my plants so I can get at my buckets to me its a invisible srcog that's how good I train them. in the pic that's one plant the big one ,I would train it like that if u use flo's so u can even the light out.and if your plant is flowering in a 18/6 cycle it might be an auto, u can easily stop flowering ,but I think fucking with the light cycles u can get hermies im not saying that's how u get them or u have a hermie im saying it happen to me I fucked with the cycle and bananas popped out .....hope this helps

thank you for the replies everyone. I was half asleep when I posted that. I think for the most part I got most of my answers... except... how do I stop the veggies from flowering? I don't have enough light to add them to my flowering room. can I stop them from flowering?

not sure if this helps but to answer some of the questions above, my veggies are on 18 6 floras and my flowers on 12 12 leds.

Oh, and do I need to move my veggies farther away.... or keep the doors closed in both rooms.... or?

What do you mean how can you stop them from flowering? You have not even told us what hours of light they are under. If they are getting more then 16 hours of light they should not be flowering. You should be giving 18 hours on 8 off...if you are doing that and they are flowering it is the genetics. Some plants are very light sensitive, some start to flower when root bound or they could possibly be auto flowers. Give us more info!

if there getting 18 hours lights they really shouldnt be flowering.. could it be a semi auto flower strain?

if it was me and i was going to try fix it my first thing would be to change the light to just 24 hours on.. but thats just me.. and havent experienced this before.. and even if it does go back to veg it'll wig out. and you'll get more growrth.. so like one of those little bud tips once reverted could come out in 10+ branches but of course you an just trim off as many as you dont want on there..

in saying this im far far from a expert so this is all just personal oppinion from me..

thank you so much for your insight. It is helping. what is an auto flower strain? I was told I was given headband, Tahoe, & Kosher. I asked for indicas. But I believe when I read back on those strains, there are hybrids and sativas. I could be wrong tho.... I don't remember exactly what I read.

ha ha pacwahini im the same man dont stress.. if i couldnt remember it i would be like go look for yourselves..

anyway a auto flower strain is a strain that will flower regardless of whether its on 12/12 or even light on 24 hours a day.. they go straight from seedling stage to flower.
when they first came out "popularly" they were pretty damn average but now as theyve been worked on a lot theyre a lot better off now.. if space and numbers arent an issue for you i would recomend trying one..

so if someone took a auto and crossed it over a normal photo period plant you may get semi auto flowering plants from the seeds produced..

but i cant say defently but im sure those 3 you mentioned are just normal photo period.. meaning you have to change the light to 12/12 to induce the flowering.. therefore you shouldnt have any flowers. ha ha hmmmm head scratcher this one..

if ive come across problems with any strains i usually will email the company that made the seeds (not always the company you buy them through as a lot of comapnies sell a whole bunch of different companies seeds... so say for example.. AAA seeds make the headband and it was the one having the problems then i would email them for there advice and most the time there more then accomidating with answers... but posting a thread is usually quicker..

could your plants be root bound at all? how small are your pots?

Very goodinfo for me.I use to grow 15 years ago and hydro. This is my first time growing in 15 years and i went soil this time. Back then, i never heard of auto flower. Lol. Anywho....
They are in 3 gallon pots because i dont want to grow too big. My grower who gave me these is, unfortunately, is (being brutally honest) a scatter brain and im mad at him because iblew a 300 dollar glass piee for him and he traded it for practically dead. (my fault for not checking the box of girls before he left) Ive revived them but all with issues. Id buymore seedsorclonesbut summer here can get hot and I'd rather just do that after the summer season.
