bloodlock, looking very nice! Does the Scythe fan make too much noise at full speed?

Hi Hisser, thanks alot! :)

I run one Schythe fan together with a DIY carbon scrubber and one for intake, both at full speed. Its listed as a 32,91 dBA fan. You hear it of course, but its not too bad.

OK, a little update here.

The plants are still growing and I am thinking they might outgrow this cabinet too! At least I have the option of removing one or both shelves, that would give me at least another 20 cm to work with. The biggest plant is now over 50 cm tall...

There are also some problems with the leaves at the bottom, it seems they are dying off. Lack of light I suppose? Plants look very healthy at the canopy level. Not much I can do about it or??

I guess 2 plants would have been enough in this cabinet, 3 plants is a crowd! :)

The Kushes are coming along nicely as well, roots are almost into the water now.

Hey bloodlock..if you have'nt tied them down, try not to...auto's don't really like it too much unless its very gradual and started early but you can still play around for sure as long as you take it slow...I just pulled 1 branch to the side to see what would happen..its a good idea because I got an extra 10 gram bud!!
Keep up the great work bloodlock!!!

Thanks for following!

BC: Might pull some branches here and there to optimize bud-generation then. 10g extra here and there is nice. :)

Guys, I made some new changes to the cabinet today. Since I have a 200w CFL 2700k lying around here I want to use it instead of the 125w one. But the temps went skyhigh. So I have bought an inline fan and mounted it together with my custom carbon scrubber:

Fan:

http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SLTDK160.html

Air Movement: 160m3/hr - 2500rpm -
Max Watts = 20 watts
Sound Pressure level at 3m = 24dB(A)

After installing this new fan I get the temps down to 29 C / 84 F.
With the 125w the temps where around 27 C / 80 F.

What is the better for yield and potency?

Could I improve airflow even more with extra passive intakes? Now I have one 120mm intake with fan + 1 120mm passive intake.

Many thanks in advance! :)

OK, a small update

Temperatures are now under control after optimizing the airflow, at least it is now stable between 80-85 degrees. :dance013:

The girls are still growing fast, had to remove the rest of the shelves in my cabinet. The tallest one is now 28 inches / 70 cm tall(!)

Its looking good, hope they will focus on bud generation now and not grow any taller!

Ok, have some issues with space now. The tallest plant have now grown to 94 cm / 37" and I had to remove the carbon scrubber + inline fan to the outside of the cabinet. Now the fan is pulling out air from the cabinet and pushing it into the scrubber. Seems to work ok, temps are under 30 degrees celcuis.

The girl on the left is growing way to tall, much more than the other plants who seem to have stopped their vertical growth. (As you can see the middle and right plants are raised, the left one is not.) I am doing SCROG or LST with the next plants in line for sure! If it continues I have to go to Ikea again to get a bigger cabinet.. :/

This is how it looks now, tallest plant to the left:

Here is my custom carbon scrubber in more detail, made from this Ikea cutlery holder:

I guess I am not micro anymore... Semi-micro maybe? Will still veg in a PC cab, but with several plants flowering in DWC I will need more space.

Here is the Bubba Kush seedling, 10 days from seed now. Going a bit slow, but its focusing on roots I guess.

Took the girls out for some air today, they where looking a bit cramped in their cabinet! If you are going to do a PC grow or any other micro with DWC, you really need to train them or they will grow too big!

Some nice frost coming now as well, its one of the smaller plants that has the most resin so far.

Ehh, not micro anymore for sure!

Ehh, not micro anymore for sure!

Yes I am a weak soul. This weekend I went to Ikea again and bought an ever bigger wardrobe! These things are just perfect for growing... :)

Width: 39 1/4 " / Depth: 22 7/8 " / Height: 79 1/4 "

This wirebasket will be perfect for SCROG on my next run!

So this is how it looks now. Will add some more lights, either a 250w CFL with reflector or a LED of some sorts. I have also upgraded the watertanks to 2,1 gallon / 8 litre

Plant on the left, very tall at 110 CM / 43". Looks more sativa?

Middle plant:

Right plant with some cal-mag issues, but lots of snow!

What do you think, should I move to the hydro forum now? I love you micro-dudes, dont want to leave!

Thanks intel2000! Things dont always go as planned, but as long as you adapt it will be ok

60 days from seed now, plants are looking frosty! Still a couple of weeks left I guess, hope it fills out a little bit more... :)

Kings Kush on the left, Bubba Kush on the right. (GHS, 25 days from seed)

What do you think peeps, how much will they yield dry?

I day dreamed about that lil inline fan you purchased for about 3 days strait. Gotta get one of those.

Hi Intel2000!

Would recommend another fan, this doesnt have enough "bang for the buck". It does a decent job with 2x125w CFLs in my growdrobe, but with 2 x 200w it got way to hot in there. would invest in something stronger straight away and adjust the speed down with a controller. But it depends on your cabinet size and amount of lights I guess.

Nice grow, i dont blame you for going from pc to cabinets. What are going to do with the pc's now, since you have two cabinets.Donate them to a friend?

Thanks fuzz420! Love the idea of growing in PC's, but I just wantet to get the max out of my first grow. Will probably go micro again once I get a little more experience under my belt... One of the PC's will probably be donated to a friend, but he has not decided yet. He thinks its too much work, lol! :)

Intel2000: I myself have been looking at these fans from Ruck with built in thermostat. You just set the temperature and the fan adjusts itself accordingly!
