New to IC and want all the Old Timers to rank my Cab and Buds

Good Morning to everyone,

I'm new to IC and have made a few posts over the last couple days. I was told about IC 2 weeks ago and have been lurking ever since. What an amazing community. I didn't know about IC or OG and wish I had of known about it before I built this cab.

So on with the pics. I figured I would start a new thread here since this is the forum I've read most. I don't want to over post my pics and bore you all. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if it goes anywhere. You can watch my progress and when I build my new cab, I'll post the whole process from start to finish. So...here's my Mom/Veg cab. 134W of floro tubes in the main chamber and 40 watts in the clone chamber. For now I have the moms squeezed into the clone chamber so I can try 1 harvest of LUI under the floro's. DIY Scrubber in a rubbermade...about 5 litres of carbon (wonder how long it will last before I need to change it...ha) 220CFM inline Duct Fan. Active intake 130CFM muffle fans...can't find them again....they rock, silent and no need for another fan in the cab....between the intake and exaust the internal temps only go up by hmmm maybe 1-2d and constantly shake the plants

Here's the girls last night just after they woke up .. about 45days

Here's a close up of one of the girls

and here's my original sketch for the Mom/Veg Cab as you can see is a little different now. My thought was for a modular design easily transportable but one of the doors in my house is extra small so I changed the design on the fly once I started rippin cuts.

I have most of the supplies I need for a 430W HPS Cab and am just waiting for the paycheques to fall in place to start my new project.

I really want all the input I can get from everyone here.

Ask me any question or tell me if I'm doing good or bad. I've read so many great posts over the last few weeks...I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

and this way I'll have a place to post my secret and find it easily on this vastly spread out forum.

Thanks to everyone that has inspired and thanks in advance to those that will inspire.

Cheers

ps...I'll footnote anyone's idea that makes it into my new cab. Hmmm maybe I could hold a competition with a prize ....hmmm wonder what the prize would be

Thanks Sinful...ya it was the funniest thing...a buddy of mine had a little micro grow going for stealth in a small cottage he lived in and I thought since I have more space I'd design something bigger. I thought I was onto something that I should patent since it was working so well and then my buddy comes to town for a visit and points out this new website he's a member on. I start looking at pics and designs and I'm like...DOH!!!!! ... You guys would have saved me a ton of time and trips back and forth to the Home Dump had I known of you earlier.

What have you got going? I'm hoping to get started on another cab next weekend.

Funny how you can't look at furniture the same way anymore eh? Seems all I can think now is.....man that would work great for a scrog.

Cheers man thanks for the props

Thanks Sin ... It's gonna be fun to build a new Cab now that I've been readin tons of threads from some great lookin set-ups. Maybe people could add their cab to this post so we could have a quick reference to tons of different set-up ideas....

Still gettin used to the site and how to find info.

Senseless Thanks for stoppin in, I appreciate the props on my grow. As I say I'm still getting comfortable at this site. I've been lurking for a few weeks and will lurk some more but at least now I can post some of my own stuff with you folks. I kinda still wanna stay in the shadows for a bit and learn from some of the veterens, although I don't feel like a rookie for the most part I still think I can learn something new everyday.

So hopefully some of the folks I've been lurking will pop up and give me some pointers, praise, or whatever.

I appreciate the links you posted...there's some great grows in there. Here's a post I bookmarked from Underground Man http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=24013

Oh and by the way ... yes I built my cab without the help of IC or OG but 2 days after finding this site I built the DIY scrubber for under $100 .... Thanks to the different DIY scrubber posts that gave me my ideas for my rubbermaid.

Here's a question for some pros.

What's the rule for changing carbon? I have about 5 litres of carbon in there. does more carbon mean it will last longer?. My fear was the air wouldn't make it through all that carbon but it seems to be working great.

Cheers everyone and thanks for checkin out my grow...I showed ya mine..now show me yours...ha

BonsaiGrower... I love your cab... and glad you found us.

re carbon: more is better... if your air flow is in balance...

re: changing carbon... when it starts to smell would be a good rule of thumb.

Good luck with your grow and welcome to the community.

Maistre ... thanks for the props on my cab. can't wait to get started on a new one. I'm thinkin I'll make a diary of the build and first grow from it and see what people think. I'll be lookin for input along the way now that I have an outlet to ask questions.

Thanks for the info on my carbon scrubber. It'll be fun to see just how long it lasts before needing to be changed. It looks like OVERKILL inside the cab but works great. The day I installed it my whole house smelled of the stuff...3 floor, 3 bedroom house and 24 hours later I come home from work and didn't smell a thing.

Thanks again to IC...YOU ROCK...make a novice grow like a pro!!!

Peace

Thanks 70s ... I have no doubt I'll be using cabs from now on. In fact since reading so many posts I'm already planning to remote ballast my floro veg cab to get me another couple inches of grow space, tidy up the look of the inside and a bonus side affect to that will be no ballast heat in the grow area. I'll also add a passive intake to the clone chamber and port it into the grow chamber and then exaust out the scrubber. This will have to wait till I finish this run of LUI of course. Who wants to modify their cab when there's plants in it anyway....ha

70's do you have any pics of your cab? I started lookin through your gallery and you have really pretty buds but ran out of time before work....your gallery is huge mate!

Cheers to everyone that's had a look at my cab and much respect to the pros

Bonsi...... Looks great......

Bonsi...... Looks great......

The cabinet looks great. The two things I could say to improve upon it are the brown panels... and location. Lots of the light gets absorbed. I like to keep everything mylar or flat white. I mean everything... pots, covers for dirt or medium, everything... except the plants. The thing with location................ is move it to my house :pointlaug
Great cabinet.......

Peace

Farmer...thanks Bro

Bree...thanks....I'm not sure if you noticed but in the actually grow area the only brown panels I have are on the bottom. The doors have inserts that fit inside the opening to seal it from light. Never the matter anyway as I'm going to bust this cabinet apart now and build one that will fit my grow tubs for my 430w cabinet. I'm looking to do a perpetual grow. Check it out in the 400w club or my gallery.

As for the bottom being brown I've seen people cover everything with Mylar or something but I've also seen people split on that decision. I always thought you didn't want light reflecting on the underside of the leaves as this could stress the plant a bit.

Anyone wanna jump in and correct me on this?

Peace and white light to everyone
