You can find some nice RO units on EBAY. I picked one up and use it more for drinking than anything else! Great investment either way.

Hey former OGer and new ICMAGer

My experience with ionic is that ionic for hard water is GREAT for RO water. It set the pH perfectly between 5.5-6.0 The "hard water" component of ionic HW is just nitric acid to neutralize the carbonate. Also, I personally don't ever screw with pH as long as its below 7.0 cuz it seems impossible to fix. Does anybody know how to get pH down and make it stay down?

i'm fairly new to DWC but my pH was all over the map too i changed out my res. and most of the problems went away pH is still trying to climb but not as fast as it was and i'm using tap water after letting it sit 3-5 days pH is avg 7.4-7.5 from tap but depending on the bucket its in creeps up to 8 [in old laundry soap bucket ] am going to try acetic acid for pH down as i can get
concentrate from photo shop... hope this helps..
