The 98129 is the black one right? I was checking those out last night. Pretty pricey ($150 or so and up). Any other experiences with them? Thats a lot of change to plunk down on a meter, if its crappy.

oakton has new Ph and TDS testers called the ultra basic because they are very easy to use.

ya the 98129 is the black one.. but there are two versions one is ec one is ppm. the 98129 is ppm...
you never have to replace the TDS part its graphite.. no other meter has that..
the ph part is the same as there standalone ph meters.. and is only 40 bucks to replace..
i have had a few other brands i wont mention and i love my hanna.. its so waterproof...
when you think about it your paying 75 for the ph and 75 for the tds..
i would recomened it to a newbie to a advanced grower..
