Whats the Add to a person reputation icon for?

Does this serve a particular function? What are the points for?

I feel like I'm missing out on something!

yo wat up first time post looking to absorb some knowledge i am startin up my first indoor grow 4'x4' by 8 feet tall i have been given a sunsystem VII dual 400 watt HMS X 400watt MH full spectrum lamp setup. totol 800 watts. i was wondering if there is any benefit to having to seperate ballast for each lamp as apposed to a ballast with two lamps. or if there is a reason for just running the MH during veg and HMS during flowering cycle as apposed to both all through out

reputation is just a way to keep track of what the community thinks of an individual post or thread......sort of like a community-wide ratings system.....it just kind of shows who is contributing good stuff versus who is just trolling or flaming or putting out negative energy.....

MADE 4 MENDO: That dual-bulb reflector makes a great gift!!!! if you have a small garden, use the MH during veg and then i would use them both for flowering.....dual spectrum produces awesome flowers.....i'm not 100% sure, but i think you need 2 separate ballasts......(Grow questions can be asked in the Grower's Forums)

:ying: kind regards from guineapig :ying:

Great site, it gives me hope. First I would like to extend a polite hello and a hearty virtual handshake to anyone and everyone within this community. I feel this site and sites like it are a drastic step in the right direction, it's good to be a part. My reason for joining this online community is that I have a lot of questions regarding lineage of certain gene pools and strains. There seems to be too much confusion among too many people, I would hate to think ego had anything to do with it. Although, with the issues of legality and much information being 'word of mouth' I understand it is hard to keep accurate track of such things, unless you are within reputable circles where you yourself have a reputation. I'm fairly young and that could take a while. It is my goal within this community to hopefully gain accurate information about strains and their lineage. I was raised in an area of California known for it's expensive prices but amazing quality and selection. I have been smoking for about a decade and have seen many amazing strains consistently, including some of the elite clones that now have seemingly vanished ever since the introduction of 'clubs' and the chaos that they tend to bring to urban market availability. I remember smoking certain strains years before prop 215 and long before the hype surrounding them. Clinics and the 'folks' who knew nothing about strains before them leave an awful taste in my mouth, but I digress. I have been reading certain threads by such people as Rez Dog and Chimera regarding genetics and breeding. These guys are my heroes. It is my goal to eventually by able to successfully breed my own strains and seed stock and I have a long way to go, but I have already started collecting clones and beans. Currently I have a strain from bag-seed that came a strain out of Norther California named "Tangerine Cream". We don't know what strains were used for the cross but of the two seeds planted there was an afghanica pheno and a sativa pheno. We cloned the afghanica pheno and named it 'Tangerine' as the flowers both living and dried reek of fresh tangerine peels. We also obtained a Trainwreck clone that I was told is the original. The person who gave it to me, said I can't give it out so I imagine that it is the real one. I have it as a bonzi mom currently and need to wait until my next cycle to grow a few out and see if it is what it is supposed to be; I don't doubt that it is. I also have about 30 seeds of some White Widow x Purple Afghani. Apparently it was breed by the same guy who was responsible for a Southern California strain Kevorkian(Anyone heard of this strain?). I have grown a few beans a few times just for shits and giggles. Some phenos are more purple and resin covered but they all have that 'paint thinner' White Widow smell. I also have a pure White Widow, a Mothership, a Purple Goosh, and a 'Salsa' clone. Salsa is another bag-seed strain that was pulled out of a good batch of Lemon Thai x OG Kush. I'm not sure which OG cut was used for the cross, but I doubt that is any of the elite cuts like the Ghost, Abusive, SFV, or the Poison. I'm new to this so any help or information is greatly appreciated. I have specific interest in Pre 98 Bubba, the confusion surrounding Chem, OG, Pure Kush, and the Deisel line, as well as some questions regarding Santa Rosa Cheese or United Kingdom Cheese. Thanks to any and all for their help, please don't reply unless you actually know what your talking about, not to be harsh, but lets not add to the confusion. Hello and thankyou for including me in your community. I'm young ambitious and ready to add whatever help I can as I continue to pick all of your brains. I'm also an aquaculture student and I'm looking to experiment with alternative nutrient solutions and managing fish waste through biological filters. Anybody with any like experience please let me know, there aren't many that share both my love of science and my love of bud. Thanks again to all.
