I think that plants of the same species should be put together so they can 'communicate' more easliy, and it may be that sub-species communicate on a different level. Not talking about the universe here, but about the acids plants pass on through the root system and touch. Elements in the air are even involved in passing on signals to plants nearby. They can warn eachother so to say, and good communication strengthens their defence. Food for thought...
