I got my plates tonight!

Bought a harbor freight 20 ton press last weekend. Ordered my Dabpress 3x7 caged plates on Monday. They arrived this afternoon. Fired them up and squished a bud of Blue Satellite 2.2 I've been saving for the occasion...

Now I'm off to order some bags. Collecting a quarter gram of rosin at a time gets old quick.

How long does everyone let their plates heat up for?

The manual for my plates says wait about 20 minutes. And I tried that. And I burned a couple of presses because my bottom plate spikes in temperature (to about 250 - 270 degrees F) before settling in within a degree or two of the set point. It takes about an hour to cycle through and become stable.

Once that cycle is complete, the temp is rock steady. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker by any stretch.

I'm trying to figure out if this is common or if mine is quirky.

I recall when I got an enail one time, the guy who made it was saying it was set for accuracy and would fidget till it got the temperature dialed in, but that the controller can be set for speed so it ramps up to a certain temperature more quickly. I have seen both conditions in enails. My plates are by dabpress, and they seem to heat up to temperature and no more, takes about 10-15 minutes i'd estimate. My old enail used to go way high and then drop. Not for an hour, but similar to what you describe.

My DabPress plates are amazing. Yeah, about 15 minutes to heat up. Maybe less.
Sounds like I should reach out to them then.

Thanks for the replies y'all!

I also noticed last night that my heaters and monitors are wired to different plates. The heater running to my bottom plate has the temp probe running to the top plate, and vice versa. I'm wondering if I should change that or leave it be. Was confusing as hell with the temp spikes and trying to dial things in. I kept turning the heater down on my bottom plate, and the temp kept going up.

Are you looking for a 'personal' press to press a gram or 2 at a time? Or would you like something a little bigger? Like 3x5 plates that will press up to 7 to 12 grams at a time?

DabPress is coming out with a small 'personal' sized press next month. Also, if you do buy DabPress, let me know and I'll try to get you a free gift, like a pre-press or a dab kit. I have a nice 'in' with the people at DabPress.

Dabpress.com or they have an eBay store or they are on DHGate or Amazon (Amazon store is having trouble right now. (Should be back up soon). They offer FREE shipping almost any where in the world.

You can't go wrong with DabPress. Quality, Service AND Price. You almost never get all 3.

What're they kicking back for these hand written ads?

Seems a bit odd on the wiring. Is it easy to change?

Same as all my customers.... 40%. Don't hold it against me. My 90 year old Mother needs and operation and I am trying to raise money to pay for the doctors. The only way I can make enough money is to become an overnight success. ;)

Hey, I just love mine. Passing on a good thing. :)

It should be.

And of course, Murphy and his law showed up, and my press worked great last night. No over heating at all. Went to the set temp and stayed there for an hour.

I managed to get this last night too. Pressed from 5 grams of kief that's been curing for the last 3ish months. When right out the freezer, it's a solid rock. After 5-6 minutes, it gets up to room temperature and is a super stiff, taffy like consistency.

I received a silicone mat and a bamboo plank with mine. I was hoping for a couple of stickers or something so I can start decorating my press. But no such joy.

And to be honest, I'm not sure what to do with the silicone mat.

If you read the instructions you place it under the press but over the board, to prevent slippage, is their recommendation. I did it.

Stickers will melt on the plate setup. I took stickers off my press.

I ordered through Amazon, but it gave me a $40 discount, not quite 10% but i ordered it with a bunch of other stuff for my perpetual setup. Came to $429 for the bj6t35

Not bad. It's hard to find a press of this quality for that price.

I have the 3x7 caged plates that I use with a 12 ton floor shop press and I also have the 3 ton all-in-one with 3x3 plates (bj3t33). This tiny 3x3 heats up super fast and I press little 2 gram pucks. I don't usually press more than a couple day's supply unless I am making meds and pressing large loads. Then, I use the 3x7, 12 ton setup.

With that tiny 3x3 all-in-one, I can heat, press, collect and be dabbing in real short time. Then, I pick it up and set it back on the shelf. Really can't say enough good about this company and their products. If I were in my youth and selling like I used to, I would be selling these puppies like hotcakes.

Not sure if I posted this video here or not. I did an unboxing on the bj3t33 that I bought....

And, a little 2 gram press...

Has anyone from Europe/UK bought Dabpress plate kits? I need to update my press, so have these worked without any problems? And I mean 220 voltage versions.

Strange that all products are at a discount, even the latest products..

Yes, they have 220 units and they ship to UK often.

Are you complaining about the discounts? LMAO just kidding. The easiest way to establish sales is discounts. As a sales professional of over 50 years, I think discounts suck. LMAO However, it is now and always has been an incentive to buy.

I don't believe I have ever heard a single complain about DabPress. I did hear one guy saying it was a little difficult to communicate with them since they don't have a CS person who speaks great English. But they do have a factory rep in Colorado and he hangs at fuck combustion dot com.

Or, I have kind of taken it upon myself to help out if I can. They have been good to me and the products and service I have received have been exemplary so I don't have a problem interfacing if it helps out. The owners name is Roger and he seems very straight up. If you have questions or problems and can't get a satisfactory answer, please feel free to post here or contact me and I will help out any way I can. This forum and Dabpress have helped me.... it's just me giving a little back.

What size and model are you thinking about?

Interesting. I read it differently lol.

The way it's worded leaves some room for interpretation.

Mine says

'Dear Customer,
To prevent accidental sliding of the rosin cube cage, please place put the silicon mat between the bamboo plank and hydraulic working table for your safety.
Best regards,
Dabpress Team'

I read that to mean place silicon mat on the arbor plates, then place bamboo plank on top of the silicon mat, then rosin cube cage on top of the bamboo plank.

I figured if it was supposed to go between the rosin cube cage and the bamboo plank, they would have referred to it as the rosin cube cage and not the hydraulic working table.

I think the mat is large enough that it could be folded in half and the bamboo plank stuck in the middle, thus providing traction for the bamboo plank against the arbor plates and traction for the cage against the bamboo plank.

Thanks Ringodoggie.

I don't complain, not at all.. just wondering.

3x3" (dp-rp33) would be the perfect size for my needs. I want to move a smaller size, because I like to squeeze many different strains in one session with smaller amounts and I do not want the oil get sitting between the plates. I currently use 6 Ton A-Frame Shop Press. First I used my old D-Nail 4,5x4,5" plates, currently crappy 3x5" plates from DhGate.

Yes, I know they can be found in fuckcombustion.

I live in northern Europe so I wondered if someone from Europe/UK would have experience of how the devices work at 220 voltage before I make an order (probably as well as 110 voltage).

I'm sorry, sometimes my writing may be like a f..king google translator. I hope you understand what I mean, at least something.
