I suspect some big campaign is getting ready to make the sheriffs look good for election...close to mid summer it will start happening until after the November election also...maybe until after the new president takes office...

LMFAO !!!!!
You really believe that ? They can pull you over for anything they want to. Then make up a reason later such as. Suspect crossed the white/yellow line. Or suspect did not come to a complete stop, or did not use signal when changing lanes. And it's your word against theirs, how you gonna prove it ? Who's gonna win that one ? Not you my friend. :tiphat:

Quote from an officer:

"The truth? The truth of what happened today is what I write down in my little notebook here."

Yeah.... I'm well familiar with officers/courts and the truth being complete strangers.

Just stay away and....

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

Since the cops are also considered sworn officers of the court, anything they say is considered true unless you can prove it isn't true. Kind of the reverse of innocent until proven guilty. Another reason you don't talk to them, whatever you say will get turned around. If you say nothing, the have nothing to falsely misquote.

This is happening all over Texas. I believe much of it has to do with the fact most municipalities are having budget problems and cops are targets of these budget cuts. So how do you increase revenue as a cop when you dont manufacture goods? Pull people over to get citation money.

One more tip about travelling through Texas. There is a checkpoint about 100 miles east of El Paso. Do not have any weed with you when you go through. The dog there has a really good sniffer. I know because it found a gram of bud I had. They took my weed and let me go about my way.
