New Cabinet What you Think!!

Hello everyone well ive been working on a new cabinet here are some spec’s and pix any advice on what you think I should do would greatly be appricated. Ok the cabinet is 5’W X 4’T X 2’D I used ¾ MDF wood (also can be sound den. If needed). Ive split the rooms into three. From left to right. Veg (top) 31”T X 24”D X 18”W Clone (bottom)17”T X 24”D 18”W, Flowering (middle), Ventilation (right) 48”T X 24”D X 12”W. Veg room is going to have (1) 2’ 4buld 6500k, Clone room (1) 18” cool white, Flowering room (1) 400w HPS cooled. The Flowering room is 30” X 48” X 24” my question is do you think I should run a Co2 system. Heat may be an issue in summer months but let me here what you guys think.(need to know kinda quik so I can buy asap thx.) Should I use mylar or white paint the only reason why I don’t wanna use mylar is because it scratches ( I think) let me know what you think I should use for wall covering. As of right now im using (1) 4” Vortex fan with 6” Odor SoK . Im going to use 2part AN products. Let me know what you think going to try to update as things progress

Well i got the Co2 today but not really sure on how i should route it in the flowering room any advice let me know. Should i mount it under the light? above it? should i mount on top or bottom of room let me know thx

if you are running co2 you shouldn't need a scrubber since you're intaking air from the adjacent room and exhausting out if you take air out of the cab you are removing co2.
for co2 either place hose behind a fan blowing onto the canopy or on ceiling since co2 is heavier than air it will accumulate at ground level.

mtlgrower: thx for stoppen by. well as for the Co2 im gonna only run it 1:58min every 3hr and when the Co2 is in use im going to turn the vent system off for about 15min.

When you use the Co2, make sure that when it is dispensing that you shut your ventilation off and give it some time to enrich your cabinet. I usually allow @ least 30 minutes before I start venting again. When you enrich with Co2, your plants can handle a bit more heat, but this often depends on the strain. I personally wouldn't let it get over 90 degrees. Also, when using Co2, you must make sure that all of your other variables are in balance. Your plants will use water and nutrients a lot faster, and if they aren't supplied, the Co2 won't help.


As for the mylar, I've had jut as good results using white paint (plus it's cheaper), or you could use panda film...

No prob man. I really just touched the surface on all the info there is on Co2 out there. I would definitely recommend researching it a bit. I'm still no expert with it and there are a lot of people on here that could help you a lot with it. If possible, you should use a Co2 PPM meter to make sure that your levels rise to around 1500 PPM each time you enrich. Also, climate controllers work excellent when using Co2. There's a lot to know about it, but when you get the hang of it, the results will please you.

Since your growing in a cab you should have the injector setting on the lowest, when you turn the lights on, turn on the co2 and let it run atleast an hour to enrich and bring up the ppm's in the cab. Then you can vent every 15 mins. or so. Turn co2 off 1 hour before lights go out. Hope that helps.

yohomz: yah i was thinking about getting a PPM thingy but that thingy is dam expensive. yah i got some of those Co2 test kit tubes will see. maybe ill get one. one day but not anytime soon. thx again

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of using CO2 in such a small cabinet. I mean, If you want to get an extra 20% out of the thing then just make the cab 20% bigger. If you used the space that the cylinder takes up to grow an extra plant you would not need the CO2. Your production would be the same. I suppose it's a technology thing? Or a contest like how many people can squeeze inside a Volkswagen?

blinddate: well the reason why im using Co2 in such a small cabinet is because im trying to use the Co2 to run the room little cooler because its pretty hot out here and im limited to a good supply of fresh air. Why not! The room that the Co2 tank is in is the vent room and all the electronics. I didnt make this cab. because i wanted to look cool and show everyone how much money i spent on it im not that kind of person. its just feels good when you do something right and not half assss. but thx for stoppen by and checkin things out.

i completely see what your saying, my first grow or two was so lame, all half assed and whatknot. it does feel better to step it up with each grow. experience with co2 is a good thing to have, been growin for about five years, and to this day im almost nervous to even try it! props to you though man for steppin it up. im sure itll definitely help come june or july. may your colas prosper!
