New Cab Idea

440cfm is a BIG fan for that space IMO.

I run a 210cfm in a 6'x2'x3' C25 cab and am only 5 degrees over ambient with a scrubber and cooltube (400w)

good, i wanted the fan to be "too big" for my space, because i can always use a speed controller, and I also have 2 400 watt MH i might want to throw in and will need more cooling capabilities...UG man I like the way you think, I want to do your idea...but I just don't understand totally how it works...So i still have my 2 passive intakes at the bottom of my grow cab? I then have my scrubber mountd on the roof of the grow cab? Where? Near intake or near exhaust? I then connect my fan DIRECTLY to the scubber? then run ducting to my light, so air is being blown THRU the light, then thru more ducting to the outside...right? thats my understanding of what your trying to tell me to do...I def. want to have the scrubber inside and the fan because it just makes more sence, and is stealthier...were gonna get to the bottom of this...lol...thanks guys!!

you got it.

just mount the filter on the ceiling anywhere that is convenient (ideally as far away from the intakes as possible to you get good arflow *across* the whole cab)

well...basically...in order for the fan to PUSH the air through the cool tube the scrubber and fan have to be in the front of the box near the intakes so they can push the air from front to back(exhaust)? isn't this correct?

hmm, im not sure I understand what you are saying.

If the filter is close to the intakes there won't be much airflow in the cabinet itself. Just like when you had the Y, the air will just follow the shortest path. So parts of your cab won't get ventilated, it will just be dead air.

Putting the filter on the top will suck air from the bottom intakes to the top, making it flow through the whole cab. You are pulling air through the cab.

Think about the vent in your bathroom. It sucks air out of the top of the room. The gap under the door is the intake. It wouldn't do a good job venting of you ran a duct from it and stuck it underneath the bathroom door. You'd end up just venting the hallway and the air in the bathroom would be trapped.

yeah, that will work fine.

ideally you'd stick the the filter in the back opposite the intakes, but you will probably have another fan in there moving around air anyways so its not really a big deal.

SUCK OR BLOW IS THE ?

SUCK OR BLOW IS THE ?

I WOULD GO COOLTUBE +FAN +FILTER OUTSIDE THE ROOM ..

AND WITH ONE LIGHT THEN YOU DON'T NEED A Y ,, I SUE THIS FOR 2 1000
I HAVE 8 INCH VORTEX IT WORKED WELL ,, BUT I ALSO HAD A/C SO ,, WITHOUT THE AC PROLLY WOULD HAVE BEEN TO HOT CAUSE I USED A Y FITTING ,, I WOULD SEE WITCH WORKS BEST AS FAR AS GETTING RID OF HEAT AND SMELL ,,

sunsimulater...the way your saying to do it, is the way I originally had it planned out...see older pics...I wanted to do it the other way because I heard pulling thru the filters is more effective, and less strain on the fan...is it true?

and i understand what you mean about the filter now, i just don't get how I am supposed to put the filter in the back of the room opposite the intake...and still be able to hook ducting up to it???
