Nevil's Memorial Grow

Nevil Haze x 3/4 C5
Let's hear more about this ?

3/4 C5 was a backcross of my original C5 cut. I crossed it with a superior hierloom outdoor California variety in the nineties, and selected a haze dominant male and crossed it back to my C5 cut.
I was able to revive some specimens of this from 17 year old seed, including a very sativa dominant male.
I crossed this male into a cut of Nevil's Haze that I got from a friend in Europe. It was described to me as a high THC NL Dominant cut with a 25%+ THC count. It had an 11-12 week budding cycle.

I hate OG .... Just isn't my sort of smoke, A well selected HazexOG I could maybe get into :)

I was just taking the piss, seems like everyone these days thinks if it isn't dense it's shit.

Nevil would of liked people to carry the torch so to speak, I think he knew he didn't have long left.

He started a breeding techniques thread on MNS forum a few years back seems obvious now he wanted to try share his experience before something happened to him but people instead attacked him and went way off topic then he disappeared off the net again.... A huge opportunity missed I think.

All the OG and new X's reminds me of the guy who was selling all the Neville strains and OG x's of Neville strains then disappeared.

So your first had the NL5 Haze from the seedbank days ?

Please let us know more info
Have you got any full cola pics instead of a few close up pics of buds

Hi OJD,
I thought you seemed familiar, now I know where I've seen you from. You are one of the few men defending Nevil on Hempy's Haze thread. Respect. I like you for that already. Thank you for showing a some class, we need more of that in this world.

Hempys thread may have been what got me to finally sign up.

I checked out Connoisseur Genetics on duckduckgo:

"Multiple cup winner OJD, an expert in the fine herbs Connoisseur Genetics - specialise in hazes but also in any other cannabis that is serious dank chemdog, kush, sour diesel."

Pictures worth a thousand words, and that shit looks dank!

I see your concern though, I understand, don't worry, I ain't planning on selling seeds and I don't specialize in Chem family(OG), I threw that stuff in there for a diverse outcross.

The logic behind my high THC project was simple.
I don't think weed has gotten better, the only place where real progress has been made is an increase in THC %. Also, who am I to judge weed that I don't even particularly like? It seemed to me the best way to pick the modern strains was just to grab the ones with the highest THC, also when you are depending on others to select cuts, it helps to have something non subjective for criteria.
I came on here because nobody understands my obsession. Most of the people in my life do not even know I smoke, much less that I grow, or that I am practically tripping half the time.

Really, I am trying to get back to my C5. My main thing is Haze, my line of Haze. If you love haze this thread will not disappoint you.

Big colas are forthcoming, but I don't want to spoil the surprise.:tiphat:

Yes I agree, straight OG gives me a headache. Once crossed to haze it's OK. Of the OGs I've had the best luck with the Ghostrain Haze #1.

Yeah that sucked what happened to him on Mrnice, a lot of trolls around. He was tore up about it.

Nevil made all of this happen, that's what people don't seem to understand.
He was the creative genius behind the whole movement. He had the balls to do it. He was the trailblazer.
Nevil was our Socrates of Dope.
LEO accuses him of importing over 20 million seeds to US alone. He confided to me that it was probably around half that. between him and the copycats it was still enough kind bud to jump start the industry that lead to legalization

Hey bro

Please accept my apologies I just assumed the worst as there are so many vultures circling
since Neville ( RIP) has passed. I'm happy to find other people that knew and worked with his strains , I never spoke with him but have been a fan since ever smoking and growing Haze many years ago.

I look forward to hear you side of the Haze.:tiphat:

Peace
Thanks Dr.,
Look forward to going into the background of this last grow in detail. This was the only strain that Nevil ever put a warning on, I crossed it prolifically with everything exceptional that I have come across.

Here is an example:

No plans to sell seeds. " Carrying the torch." Anyone who has Neville's genetics is left carrying the torch now. You sound like a seedseller, if you are and you are holding Nevil's genetics, then what I say is truer for you.

I am an old customer of Neville's, we were reunited online through Shanti, before they fell out, and I have skyped many hours with him. Always thought I would get to meet him one day.

Hi Hempy, welcome,
That is actually what the third leg is about. Don't want to go into much detail at this point, the short answer is: yes.
I always felt bad because my first run with it got totally messed up. Glad I got a second chance better late than never!

Awesome! Always happy to see any of Nevils work. Nice looking male, funny you should mention Deathstar, that is one of my favorite OG hybrids, tried to get some for the high THC project, but I couldn't find a cut. Never heard of Cure, but it sounds like an interesting cross.

The C5 x Heirloom sativa line sounds awesome
