Never buy a dehumidifier from IDEAL AIR.

This review is for: Ideal-Air Dehumidifier 60 pint
I bought 2 of these. One of them broke 2 days after i started using it. The other broke 2 months later. They have a design flaw. A chip sitting on the condenser has issues with moisture, so if it gets waterlogged it stops working. If you need a dehumidifier that works, do not purchase this one. Also customer support is not helpful at all. They dont answer the phone during business hours and they dodge your calls when there is a real issue. Now i have to wait two weeks for them to verify that the dehumidifiers are broken before i can get my $ back. I spent over 1200$ on these and expect better service and warranty help. Do not buy! I also mentioned to customer service that i was happy i went with a mitsubishi double split because of the obvious quality issues and his reply was "luckily you dodged that bullet." I will never buy from them again and suggest looking at other reviews as well.

yea ideal sucks...they take shitty basic units and relabel them with cool fancy "grower specific" marketing.

if you are in the market for an awesome De-Huey, the industry standard is Santa Fe. People have said good things about DriEaz as well.

As somebody that works in the trades I can confirm this review. They are a growers special unit, but commercial units are way better.

Damn I just bought the 60 pint one about a month ago... haven't used it in the grow yet, but have been using it in a flood area of a house so far with no issue.

Is yours the blue one? I think there might be a white+blue 60 pint and then a blue 60 pint "commercial" version (the one I have) which is why I ask.

I have the blue commercial version. It looked really good but couldn't take consistent use. I think one of them was previously returned as well, due to wear n tear on the paint. My main issue is customer service. I was trying to explain how high humidity caused me $500 in extra costs and they literally cut me off and hung up on me.

That's ridiculous man, I'm sorry to hear that :( nothing irks me more than bad costumer service, seriously...

What kind of conditions were you running them in out of curiosity? You say it couldn't take consistent use. I running a sealed 10x13 room with 6300w and a 3 ton mini split, and was hoping the 60 pint would do the job to keep it at 50% when the lights were off and the AC kicks down.

Get a Santa Fe I run it 24/7 with out a problem. It's one of the best investments I have made. I plan running it in my dep greenhouse this year.

Thanks for the tips on the santa fe. Im looking at the rx cause it has a better air filter, but $2400 is steep. Looking at the compact and compact 2, they both look good too. I am running 9000 watts, fully sealed w/co2. With the ideal air units i had a hard time keeping humidity under 60%, without using the dehu function on my minisplit.... Which i need for ac.
It seems the rx doesnt do much more than the compact 2, so i may grab a compact2 for now. What do u guys think?

Bad habits- i dont think the ideal air will keep it under 50% with the lights off. It tends to leak too.

Does the santa fe series have leaking issues too?

thats what I'm talking about, for the $1200plus tamales hash spent on 2 60pts you could get a sante fe.
top of the line and reliable

I'm running 6000w sealed 14x20.
i couldn't afford a santa fe so i got 2 friedrich 50pt units,
they knock it out flawlessly for under $500
i may could get a way with 1 unit...?
I'm very satisfied.
I wouldn't buy a grow site dehuey,
as said, with a new label on junk and insane marked ups.

the watergen is a perfect example,
$300 plus pesos for a water cooled Co2 gen.
its a tankless propane water heater, thats it
they put a different plastic cover on it and a fancy sticker...
thats it.

I paid $112 for the same thing, and $33 for the solenoid open shut off solenoid... they charge $60 for the solenoid.....
at least with the watergen, it isn't junk,
u only fork over 3 times as much $$ :jerkit:

pisses me off to hear shit like this
really sorry to hear your probs with these rip off artists hashman, hopefully your loss will help others avoid the same problem....
I'd go ballistic if I were in your shoes:cuss:

When they started dodging my calls it got intense. We will see what happens.
I called thermoair who makes the santa fe, and they said santa fe is not covered under warranty in our type if environment, so they released the quest series. The 90 pint unit goes for 1250$ and has a five year warranty. I may go with the quest. Anyone here have one?

the name of a company says a lot about who they are

i came from another country to the u.s., so with this perspective, i observed that profiteering/opportunism is basically de facto in the u.s. - it's what you do, it's what expected of you. no american is happy unless someone is lying to them.

now, you can say this is some bullshit, but when someone names their company, they are communicating with a public they have been accustomed to deceiving. masons and other deceivers use trivial methods to identify themselves because AMERICAN MARKS NEVER SUSPECT.

the name is not "ideal" - the name is "i deal".

the person who picked the company name knew this, and when you read the name, YOU ARE PRESENTED WITH SOME INSIGHT INTO THE CHARACTER OF THE PROPRIETOR.

namely, a stinky ass mason or something.

never shop places with "clever names" - read the words twice, see if there's supposed to be some kind of stupid "in joke", and open your eyes!

I have a 20x30 room bought the ideal commercial dehumidifier suppose to be 170pints a day. I would not reccomend it at all. Much better off buying a quest dehumidifier. I think the ideal unit is cheap and not made for a room my size and amount of moisture I add everyday thru watering.

They are cheap tho, but spend the money and get a quest

I'm definitely not happy with Idesl air. I forget what size, boxy with wheels. Loud and not that efficient. Drainage clogs and drips on floor...

Thanks everyone got quest... all the homies got quests so i just got inline.... lol fuck ideal

Yes on the Quest! Cause Quest is the best! Yea I have both, I swear my Kenmore home unit from sears does a better job than my ideal air $900.00 180 pint unit. Quest is much quieter and kicks out less heat too :)
