So this may be a repost but I thought I posted this but I don't see it.
So, hey folks, read the whole thread and it's got me excited. I am heading to nepal and maybe india in mid november and wanted to talk about places to see and how to find weed/hash/seeds. I started a thread so I'll post the link below so I don't derail or hijack the thread, but I noticed a few people in this thread have personal experience there so I thought I would try to get some people advice. I am just looking for general information of nice places or ideas of things to do in nepal, suggestion or tips to find good hash/weed and seeds. Also does anyone have any advice for shipping seeds or taking seeds back with me?

I have some seeds from Orissa, can anyone tell me anything about the plants there?

Orissa strains are ganja strains for most. North-East Indian strains can require pretty long growing and flowering time. If you grow indoor I hope that you have lots of space and plenty of time..

The Real Seed Company has a relatively new strain out called Nanda Devi from Northern India..

I'm amazed I haven't found this thread earlier. I've spent a lot of time in India from my teens onward. The best i ever had was in the Himalayan foothills just outside Nainital. I've tasted many a charas twist both Indian and Nepalese.

It's always nice to think of going back and finding something soooo good that it puts a smile on your face that, even using your hands, you can't physically stop. Your face just curves upwards where it stays and your the happiest and stupidest looking fool in the world! Ha, love it.

Hello, I see that most plants from Nepal looks like "sativa"! Logically in nature with more altitude plants should be more indica typer I think!? Kathmandu , Kumaon etc, +/- 1500m...!
I wonder at what altitude we would go to find even cannabissss..!? 3000m?

RSC says : "The shorter "indica" phenotype is regarded as making the best quality charas."

It reminds me that +altitude equal +UVB

I've got malana, parvati, nepalese highland and sheberghan in the fridge... I'm finishing my session with AKxIMM and Colombian Black and I will not delay to start one of them...

1500m is not to be considered as high altitude and sativas are really common at this elevation.
In Hindu Kush I have seen wild sativas growing at 2200m, and also some in Mastuj at around 2600m (although this one might be feral).
Wild indicas I have seen at 1200-1400m in Swat.

In Parvati, the highest growing plant I have seen was at Khirganga (2.800m), but was probably from seed brought from downside by some baba.
In Parvati valley, highest patches are at about 3200m.
Closest thing to indica i have seen in Parvati were small 30 to 50cm plants growing along the path , under the trees cover, going from Barshani to Tosh, at about 2200m.


I don't think that altitude plays that great a role in defining what types of plant you're gonna find at this or that elevation. From my few journeys I can tell that (although I might be wrong, not been everywhere...), in Western himalayas and connected ranges, there is no wild cannabis to be found above 2600m or so, and anything growing higher is cultivated or feral. Though about Nepal, I can't say...

sounds nice zahir, maybe you can start a thread in the landrace section and post your photos there ? Let's no mix Colombia with Himalaya (well, thread-wise eheh, otherwise there must be great crosses to be made !).

Hmmm, interesting!!!! Mel Frank wrote something like that in his book Marijuana Grower's Inside Guide

Many Mexicans look as if they originated from Nepalese stock

sure smells like it to me, some congolese are similar too, also bieng high THC..

i got 2 pack of each and plan to grow along side some haze and oaxacan in the summer, the Nepal pool is like the Kush, diverse.......i remember reading oaxacan gold was the same stock as colombian gold but with Indian broadleaf added early on by the gringos...

this subject: the movement of the species fascinates me and has done for years now..

they say that these are cultivated and will be easy to germinate..i had some wild as wild Nepal seed that were tiny, and tiny seed makes tiny plants(at first)..when they popped the seedlings were thin and wirey with 1mm cotyledons, the fn1 seed were bigger though...?
