i have to say i´m in favour of a longer flowering PHxT. it might take closer to 6 months to mature, maybe little less. i think the dying leaves are on me, soil had clumped or shrunk and most water drained, same with couple other plants before. that seems to be main reason.

Looking good, man! What type of soil/pot size are you using? Also, how long, in your experience, do the VBT take to finish? I have a HUGE VBT in my flower room right now, that started outdoors, but I brought it in due to weather. Looks like it still has at least two weeks to go. The reason I ask, is because some of your varieties here look fairly dense, whereas mine looks big, but not as dense. Also, what about trichomes? Mine has little to no trichomes and smells like nothing. Is this normal? Maybe Dubi could give some input as well :)

about 11-12 weeks + preflower. hang onto it, it´s good.good trichs and density. i use 2 part soil,1 part vermiculite + 1 part perlite. 11 liter fabric containers. and 5 liter plastic containers with some test seeds

I'm at 43.8 latitude, but she is inside now. I also have another one, same pheno (cloned from same mother) that was started at the same time. I would put this particular phenotype at about 20 weeks (at least). It's not a bad thing, just alot longer than I expected. I have other VBT phenos, and Double Thai as well, and they all seem to be going faster than this one. I guess it's just a longer flowering phenotype haha :)

vietnam black thais. i sure will miss these. lost most my clones but still got 1. there is wide range of goodness in these. wild, fuck you up high with mango or lemon aromas. #3 hermied on last lap but was otherwise my favorite of these with superb mango taste. but in the end #4 with more lemony taste(totally different, kinda sweaty lemon aroma?) proved to be even better(personal stash better like malawi, panama)View Image

Looks like the OE #2 we grew out.

taste and smell after drying, no cure is mandarine or sweet orange,+ incence in smoke. think it will deepen some in maturing last few weeks. too strong to be stimulating, usual haze brainscramble.

Awesome high. Orient Express - the other phenos are good too, but the hazy pheno is off the charts good. :woohoo:
Is that a common pheno- (hazy deluxe)? We grew two and got 2 phenos.

Welcome Bubbarandon,

I appreciate your courage to grow such complicated thai hybrids indoors.

Thanks for your support. Let us know if you have any doubt during the flowering. Best regards!

Hi jay sus,

Looks like your Purple Haze Thai is quite matured at this stage,
if some parts of the flowers are starting to dry then i wouldn't delay the harvest.

Good job bringing this tropical sativa until the end

too bad that all the leaves died at mid flowering. it made buds more fluffy and wildly foxtailing. i have two clones which are huge in babypots. they are in good health, so i think this goes down this week and i put both clones into flowering. and i still have full pack in fridge for distant future. ph x malawi does look even better, but this has it´s own sweet thing going.

Thanks, Dubi! It's my pleasure :) Here's the same phenotype of VBxT that has been ID the whole time. Looking much better than the other!
@jaysus: You're killing it, man. I love coming on this thread and seeing the amazing long flowering sativas that you're working with. Keep it up! :D

i should really try to preserve vbxt. it has some fine traits, and special, at times pure meltdown high. i now have one malawi(or not so likely zamal)male. it might make good cross. or orient express, that being half vb to me sounds best. and having one kali china has made yunnan lot closer to my heart. or phxt.

Hi jay sus,

Yes, the Purple Haze Malawi is quite similar to Purple Haze Thai (both are quite Purple Haze dominant hybrids), but Purple Haze Malawi is much stronger, better yielding, faster, easier to grow indoors than the Thai cross.

Best wishes for 2016! :)
