i just germed a mix of MSG, ChemDkush, and ch9s mendo. all except 2 sprouted healthy in the paper towels and were moved to soil. they were all heavily sprouted in the paper towel so i was suprised after 3 days only one broke surface. i checked around in the soil of one and found the cotyledons COVERED in these minute silver/gray worm like things. 2 more had the same things attacking them. ive been recycling my soil my looks like that ends here. anyone know what the fuq these bastards are? good thing ive bein planning the switch to coco, shoulda done it sooner after sein this :spank:

in simple words, fuck no :badday: the one that was covered i tried flickin em off to find out what they were and they scrambled right back to the seedling. ive had zero bug issues until this came up.

I tell ya mites Are a force to be reckoned with but nematodes are just plain nasty. I hate this one the most, never had problems with them myself but I had to experiment with them at one point in the past and hate em they aare just creepy. I curse your nematode filth and damn it back to hell!

if anyone has seen this or now about this, would recycling plant material into my soil cause an outbreak of these worm/larvae/nematode things?

3 letters for you. DTE
diatimotouse earth.
get a box at the local farm supply/hydro store/garden center. 3-5 lbs for less then 10$... its a powder made of tiny exoscellotons, like ground up coral or shells. anyways it will scratch the nematodes and kill them. i bet there fungis gnats though, clear worm like things. anyways DTE will get them, its a powder put it on the top of the soil and mix it in with the top 2-3 inches. itll help i guarantee it.

An old fashioned remedy....

An old fashioned remedy....

Seems like marigolds produce a chemical in their roots that nematodes can't stand! You might consider planting a few dwarf marigolds in your soil. - Granny

i bet there fungis gnats. DTE will kill about any bug that dosent have a thick-ass exoskelliton(sp?)...
could try go-gnats.....or 3-in-1 safers...
adding a 3-4 inch layer of perlite ontop of the soil prevents baddies from creeping in.

save your egg shells when you cook breakfast let them dry out a couple days then crumble them up with your hands and add them to your soil

okay, whatever it is is inside the recycled dirt. it cant be fungus gnat larva because i just checked my jahwis joys that never popped. the same grayish worm like things that killed off my germd seeds before have grown into larger whitish colored worms that had gone in through the crack in the shell and destroyed all 3 jahwis. funny though, as soon as they break ground the seedlings are fine, its only while their underground. income tax = no more store bought dirt thats for sure.

If growing outdoors, my dad used to plant onions all around his MJ plants, nematodes which were always a problem outside here, left those areas, they no like onion plants :) But would not recommend this for a indoor grow.
