Exactly, but, do it once and flower, if you rebend plants over when they are already flowering it often causes a new burst of flowers to form as the auxins get spread out along the new "top level". You then have to wait for the new burst to finish, adding to the flowering time.
Don't bend just pinch the main cola, and prune the fan leaves that block the tops of the side branches. this slows the top growth and tells the plant to distribute energy to the side branches. This allows the canopy to even out. It's about top internode exposure. You will have to do this several times during the first month of flower. You will also have to pinch the side branches too, and prune under canopy often.
great information on the pruning and pinching - will certainly do that when this starts - also removing lower branches seems to be a common move - so will see when I get a feel for the growth pattern
I assume I do not need to do too much of my normal up potting - just get the seed going in a regular SOLO cup - get them going then repot into 5 gallons - veg for a week or a bit more then flip -
I usually run veg pure blend grow with added calmag -then switch to the bloom after the switch )but I veg for 30 days) - with such a short veg time - do I just stop the grow when I flip? seems like very little in terms of nitrogen -
Sorry these may seem like basic questions - but I have been running the same Papaya forever and am dialed in on that sucker!! - the flower time on this haze is so long that I do not want to get 3 months into this thing with troubles -
I am anal about my research and plans - once I get I understand the plan - I follow it through - I will certainly put a grow show together when these start.
No question is stupid amigo. I'm happy to help. one thing I forgot to tell you to do is make a double layered trellis with netting and PVC, and do a full scrog. If you really want to keep them from stretching add extra phosphorous. Do this very very carefully if at all. There are balanced additives like bud blood from advanced nutrients, or bush master, or gravity. For soil you can just add wood ash. I suggest using them at 1/4 strength or less because that shit is strong and if you over do it then you will destroy bud production.
Another thing you can do is purchase a light defuser. They are really cheap and go under you bulb in your light fixture. This defuses the hot spot in the middle of most hoods and help prevent burning if your buds get too close.
I have gone from being a tad reserved on starting these - to looking forward to getting started - Thanks much for all the help - I will be starting them shortly for the veg to clone process.
I have had good luck with indicas and phosphorus as far as limiting the stretch - so quite familiar with that process and will certainly being adding that as well - looking into light diffusers now - have a hot spot in canopy from the light now that I have been wondering about -
