The domes were new....

I like the h202 idea...I hope I still have some...Should I add some hydroguard too?...Are you sure adding more water will help...I would feel more comfortable misting the leaves..Will that have the same effect?...Its just that the soil is sooo wet:confused:..

Leave out the hydroguard, you're trying to kill bacteria in the soil and around the meristem. Therefore don't spray the H2O2 on the leaves this is simply something to mist initially very lightly.

One of my old habits when using peat pellets (stone age technology) is to always squeeze them out before putting in a cutting - did you do this simple but vital step? If you haven't just squeeze those suckers and get alot of that extra moisture out. [edit] Yes you can squeeze them just grip slightly around the expanded pellet - this will not harm root growth if you do it right you will get a slow drip/runoff of the excess moisture.

Stay smoking!

One thing that helped me in the past is to spray my clones with neem oil after I have taken them. I'm not really a dome user though. Yet, I've done it with both methods.

Neem oil is definitely some stinky and amazing stuff. I usually water with it two or three times throughout my grow, the roots love it.

Im really lucky...I was able to take a fiew more cutts...They are looking good.

Most of the previous batch is dead or really droopy...I may have a fiew survivors:confused:...

I have some in rapid rooter pluggs, and some more in my hydro cloner...

I had to move the whole opperation out to my kitchen. And install a door to keep the cats from eating the clones..as my grow room is just too hot and humid...

Thanks for yer help guys..
I appreciate yer time.

terribly...I took a whole batch and put em in rapid rooters...They were all dead in a coupple of days after..Then I took another round of cuts(very last batch), stuck em in my aeroponic clone machine, and that piece of shit started to melt all the clones:confused:....Everything I clone dies!!!!....Its soo frustrating. Especially when the holes are prepped, the weather is good and the sun is calling for me to put girls outside...And im stuck inside with a bunch of dying stock!!!!

Im really getting pissed...Ive peen proficient at cloning in the past:confused:

so, I recently took another round of cuts. I put them in a mix of 50/50 soil and perlite. I made DAMN sure that the soil wasnt too damp......The stems are rotting again!!!!...

Dip the stems in fungicide before inserting into the soil mix. I use captan. It's also possible to "water in" and settle the soil around the stem after inserting using fungicide water. Some rooting hormones will contain a fungicide already.

Blackvelvet's rooting technique

You have to work fast to prevent water loss. Take clones from the mother plant...

This picture shows getting two clones off one branch on a mother plant. 1 good node (place where a leaf comes out) is left on the mother branch. The clones node where the leaf is removed is buried in a soil mix.

Dip the clone stem not leaves into a fungicide solution. 2 teaspoons 50% captan per gallon of water. Captan can be found at garden centers. Other nonsystemic fungicides could also be used instead. The clone stem is now wet.

Get some powdered rooting hormone like rootone. Pour some out in a coffee filter for example. Do not dip the clone directly into the bottle. dip the clone into the hormone on your filter or whatever. Make sure the stem is completely covered. Shake off.

Insert clone into a hole you have made in a fluffy soil mix like promix plus some added perlite. Firm the soil mix around the stem and fill in the little hole. Gently water the small container till the mix is really wet.

Place clone and little pot in a high humidity structure. i like a fishtank. $10 at walmart for a 10 gallon new (able to be washed with bleach and reusable). After all the clones are in the tank, spray the leaves and sides of the tank till covered in a light film of water. Cover the top with clear plastic wrap like from the grocery store.

I suggest a 2' 2 tube florescent shop light to go over the top. 40 watts total. 1 plant type bulb like grolux and a warm or cool white bulb works ok. A mixture of 1 warm and 1 cool works just as well too. 2 cool whites will be alright but not the best choice.

Temps should be around 75-80 f. The fish tank should be foggy. In winter a small heating mat under the bottom outside may be needed to keep them warm enough. If the tank is not foggy, repeat misting the clones and sides of the tank.

After about 1 week, roots will begin to form. Begin poking a small pencil size hole in the plastic wrap everyday. After several days, several holes will be there. Eventually when the clones are well rooted, test them by removing the wrap completely. If they wilt put them back in.

Refrigerate the unused rooting hormone in the bottle. Dispose of the hormone on the coffee filter that was used for dipping.

Good luck!

The fungicide you should be able to get at a garden center. Its old fashioned and cheap. At one time, rootone contained a fungicide but they stopped for some reason.

I forgot to mention...the soil mix should be wet before inserting the cutting and watered in after inserting and firming the soil mix around the stem.

Since the clones are in high humidity, fungus will be around. You may find it beneficial to add to your mist bottle daconil 2787 fungicide (chlorothalonil) and spray the clones leaves once. Use the ornamental rate. You can find this at lowes/homedepot or at a good garden center.

If you cant find what you need around town, order it. Give these guys a call or email... http://www.southernag.com/

Here is a pic of my latest batch of clones. I used all perlite and styrofoam cups in a plastic container with lid and rootone. I'm currently spraying with 10ml per gallon of liquid karma to boost the process. If you don't succeed try try again! Will definitely keep you posted on how many days it takes these, they were taken in the first week of flowering.

hey Fast Pine, sorry to say it sounds like Botrytis (aka Damping Off) to me. It is a very common problem in greenhouses cause it likes it warm and wet. You should definitely dry things out and sterlilize the good news is that as fungi go, botrytis is a wimp and it shouldnt be a problem after that. heres a link, hope it helps- good luck.
