Older crowd in the South? I'm thinking Oldies, Hank Williams, Otis Redding, Louis Armstrong. You can't go wrong with some old soulful musicians.

Good ideas so far, thanks everybody. Definitely going to have some Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and the like...also have an album with Motown artists singing beatles songs that would be great, thanks for the reminder :dance013:

For the record, if you'll note my original post, I simply said that a fair amount of my customers are elderly, most are not however. I'd say maybe a quarter overall are older retired folks. :tiphat:

you mentioned bluegrass - yonder mountain string band.

plunk in their version of 'holdin', look around the room and see who gets it ;)

you can d/l a metric asstittyload of their live stuff from the internet archive (archive.org)

doc watson, flatt and scruggs - hell, the 'Three Pickers' album on a loop. i'd listen to it for hours, at least.

It depends on how long you want your guests to take to eat. playing faster paced music will have them finishing there food faster and on there way, but slower music might give it a more relaxing enviroment for elderly folks and such.. really depends on what type of atmosphere your trying to set. if it doesnt matter play a faster tune and get people out of there faster which makes more tables available, unless your not that busy.... lots of things to factor in.

Play select cradle of filth and dimmu borgir songs .. Let the people know what this world is coming too.

Also, if you don't make your restaurant skateboard accessible, you will be sued.. Pass it on to your friends.
