need some advice on lights

is it ok to use both mh and hps lights at the same time in my 12/12 room?

you should use the hps for flowering and MH for veg.

It is not only okay, it's great!

While MH is most often associated with veg, and HPS with flower, the mixed spectrum of the two are closer to natural light.

So go ahead, use both, and enjoy the benefits of mixed spectrum lighting!

Yup - agree with NiteTiger - i think a few pro growers use a 400w mh if they are using a 600w hps.

Some of the largest, densest nugs I've produced have come out from under an MH that was flanked by HPS on either side. Helps reduce stretching too.

some of my best grows I had a mh mixed in with hps lights. plants love mixed spectrum. I have a dual 400 hood that has both 400w hps and 400mh. It is my prefered veg light for small/medium plants.

I have also seen great bud flowered with just mh lighting.

if you only can have one light go for a HPS 600w/1000w it will do all you need

either way will be fine. alot of growers use both, dual spectrum lighting is getting more and ore poular. the mh will cut down on the strtching hps causes during flowering. id say both for optimum, but most growers use one or the other. check out northern farmers grows, hes got some monstrous girlies, and he uses strictly mh. good luck!

thanx i have 1000w hps and a 600w mh i had heard it was good for them but wasnt sure, might as well ask the fam right?thats exactly what im goin for denser nugs this time around.
