Need help with deep Alaska outdoor auto grow this summer

Sup yall, I just have a few questions. I am thinking about going on a deep woods 3-4 month camping trip this summer in Alaska. I would like to grow some Autoflower's while I do this. Now, my first question is this, I will only have what I can carry in a large hikers pack, so hauling lots of ammendments and such is out of the question as I need to bring survival gear, camping gear, ext...so no room for soil, perlite ext. However, the soil here in alaska is unlike the states...its SUPER rich naturally...I was thinking a few bricks of coir would be good to loosen soil up?



So, 1. What stuff could I bring to give my ladies the best chance they got, that can fit in a walmart plastic bag? A single quart of bloom ferts should suffice yes?

2. Water will not be an issue as I would be camped next to a lake.

3. I will be hunting my own food and fishing so will be lots of fish and animal wastes (bones, blood ext.) However, I gotta be carful bout attracting bears so idk if I wanna use these things. I have read that ASH is a great sourse of K so I could burn some fish skin or something?



But ya, so basicly I have to fit EVERYTHING to survive for 3-4 mo out alone in the alaskan wilderness, survival pack, .22, 44 mag, fishing and hunting equipment, few lbs of emergency jerkey incase somethign happens and cant get food, and many others....I know how to survive out in the woods (I grew up w/o electricity in a tiny cabin) I just want to make sure I can grow some good autos. I wont be growing very many...as it would just be for my personal stash but would like to have some good quality stuff.



Any ideas on a strain that would do GOOD in Alaska? We get 20+ hrs of daylight for a good 30 days in the summer and stays above 16 hrs for almost 3 months. Perfect light time.

Think ill leave it for someone with a clue on microbiology to help you with how to feed your plants, heard urin can be used so im sure you can make this work. The space you will want to grow at will most likely be overgrown by roots and plants and stuff, you will need to craft tools to work the soil and such.

Im most interested in the same subject as i did my first outdoor guerilla grow in northern scandinavia last year which is a similar terrain and climate as much of Alaska only not so far from civilization as you plan to go. It would be cool to do something similar in the back country around here some day.

I'd recommend getting a good book on wild edibles if you don't have one already. There's one called "Discovering Wild Plants" by Janice Schofield detailing Alaska's flora. I think she's also got a smaller field guide size version, search her name. Pretty much anything you can eat that's nutritious makes an excellent mulch for Cannabis. Most especially Stinging Nettle, Yarrow, Dandelion, and pineapple weed all of which are plentiful in AK and easy to indentify. AK soil is rich enough though, I'd agree with articsun, your main task will be digging up a nice hole. Low nighttime temps will also be a concern, so you might want to figure out something to pack out that you could throw over them in case of frost (frost can happen any day of the year up there).

I'd recommend keeping your plants away from Pushki (Cow Parsnip) as those roots are viscious and the leaves will quickly outshade yours. Once you dig up a hole, most of the beneficials I mentioned will probably sprout up, which is fine because they are great companion plants.

Very interesting post. A couple thoughts off the top of my head. If you're only going to grow a couple plants you might be able to take a small amount of perlite to keep the soil loose. For 2 or 3 holes you probably wouldn't need more than 2 or 3 cups per hole. It's so light you wouldn't even notice you were carrying it. I'd stay away from any kind of fish or animal waste as a fertilizer. Without being composted for a season they will be too hot and could burn your plants. Since you are going to be on a lake I'd look around and see if you can find some peat. Check around swampy areas. Peat is very rich in nutrients. Also, for a couple plants you wouldn't need a full quart of nutes. Autos only require bloom nutes from the 6th week through the 10th week, so the most you would probably need would be a cup of so. I'd also suggest taking some neem oil. It's a good all around insecticide should you run into any pest problems.

The light conditions are perfect for growing autos. I'd suggest something that gets a little bigger like Mi5, Auto Assassin or Onyx. They should produce 1 1/2 ounces or more per plant outdoors.

^your chances of encountering insect pests in the Alaskan bush are very low. Even intensive greenhouses near towns have little to no issues, I've never even heard of spider mites up there, aphids are only an issue indoors.

I'd also say don't bother with the perlite, you could easily find some forest duff to serve the same purpose.

The most important piece of equipment to take along IMHO is a bugnet. Without it you will eventually be driven insane by the unending clouds of millions of insects whose only goal in their short little lives is to drain you of blood. The north woods is not a place to chill.
