Need help w/ Bubble Cloner

hey guys/gals whats going on,

I'm about to take some cuts tonight so i can keep up with my perpetual
harvest. Normally my parnter and I take cuts use some rooting hormone stick them in rockwool, put the rockwool in a solo cup covered with a plastic sandwich baggie and keep most under 24 hrs of CFL's. The difference this time is now i have built myself a bubble cloner which i read off one the DIY threads on another site. I am using a 10 gallon rubbermaid with 4 airstones at the bottom with room for 20 cuttings. Now since i have never done this before do i just take cuts like i normally do minus the rooting hormone and
rockwool place them in the plastic tubing and just turn on the air pump
and leave CFL's on for 24 hrs? Can I add some nutes in the water(ieAN's Jumpstart) to help roots grow quicker? i have never used one of these before and i dont want to mess it up can anyone here give me some advice?? I have a heater as well to put on a timer.....anyone know what an ideal water temp would be?? Any help/sugs/advice would be appreciated.

Peace~

Just stick them in the cloner

Some use rooting solution, some dont. I do not think it will hurt if you do.

No nutes. Plants cant take nutes up, they dont have roots. And the nutes can lead to problems if the bubbler is not light proof..

Temps. I have heard different temps, between 70-80. I went at 75, anything higher and I thought the stems would rot. Change the water every few days

LIghts should probably be 18/6 versus 24

Bout what Yamaha said - very little light - I use an 18W floresent tube about a foot away - mine is on 24/7 but sometines I have cuttings off of flowering plants to revert to veg.

I also use rooting hormones most the time - snip, dip and let it sit to draw a lil vit B into the stem and drop it in the hole of the aero cloner. Roots in 7 to 21 days - strain and health dependent.

Leave the bubbler and air pump on if you have lights off.

I like a lil higher than 75, but under 80 F. (infered thermometer)

Bout all I can add

Once ya get it working - ya wonder what was so hard. It's just that getting it to work the first time.

Don't give up your proven system!!!

Try the new one, learn all you can, fall down, get up but, until it's up and running, keep the old system in place.

I've tried the areo/bubbler a couple of times, 100% failure. I say pilot error, but until I get it working, my old system (very similar to yours) stays up.

I'm with Freezer. Stick with what's working and try the new method on the side until you think that you've got it dialed. I've cloned pretty much every way there is. I like using perlite and a perlite vermiculite mix more than any other. Bubble clonining is really cost effective. Yet, not to be mean or cruel but it amazes me how many cheap skate pot growers are out there. Most cloning methods work but don't take a chance on a method of cloning that you aren't accustom to using. Those plants are valuable in more than one way. Hope that it all works out for you...
All the best... Chose

Update:

Bubble Cloner works awesome....(kept temps at a consistent 77 degrees Fareinheit)......just pulled my first clones out 6 days ago and they are doing awesome....very healthy and hopefully anchoring in for a couple of weeks in the solo cups until i transplant.....i had 20 tubes.....filled 10 and ended up w/ 8 solid babes......definately a fun way to clone......thumbs up!! Getting ready to take some cuts of Rez's Basic Kush....

Why does it matter how much $$ u spend on your growing equipment? If it works it works. I myself always making or building what i need. Money my friend is not the answer to everything, u cant buy skill. Just my 2 cents worth

STAY HIGH!!
PEACE!!!

use some hydroguard it will help your plants from rotting at the stem, also i think they need some darktime to root so 24 hours is no good untill you have some roots. likewise i owuld make sure your water is the right temp and that you follow the basic rules of the game. other then that you should be fine. Best O luck

Hey,9 are you bubble cloning or just going with a plain glass of water without bubbling?

I don't get roots as fast as others but I have gotten to that elusive 100% cloning with the bubble cloner, but what works for you stay true and perfect that...
