Replace the plants with tomato plants and wait for the raid. Once the cops are humiliated. Sue the shit out of the plumbing company.


Reality:

Clean out everything grow related. Clean out any files and pics related to your op. Take a year break from growing. Live the rest of the year in the rear view mirror.

Get a bunch of friends. Find the plumbing company location. Destroy every single one of there company vans.

but you did the right thing, have to be safe
a local case, this local guy owns a small junkyard and does pretty large indoor grows
gets in fight with girl friend, ends up in armed standoff with police, no shots fired in the end
anyhow on the local news, the neighbors had been trying to narc on him for years, police just wouldn't move on him
NY isn't the worst state on this, but not the best by a long shot, many jurisdictions require a pretty high bar for the warrant

You're in a tough situation, that's for sure. If the plumbers took a picture with their cell phone you're screwed. If they reported you, you are already under surveillance and an eye witness is all they need for a warrant. Some judges hand them out like candy and it will be hard to beat with an eye witness saying they saw your marijuana garden.

If you move your plants and get caught, that will be additional charge(s). If you take it somewhere else you might be setting up your friends. Don't put anything in your trash and don't say anything to the cops, nothing at all! If they knock on your door, don't answer because if they have a warrant they will be coming in regardless. If you do get arrested, don't say anything on the jail phone other than to have someone get you a lawyer. Don't give details of anything, including why you think you are being arrested, as the calls will be recorded and can be used against you. Sit there like you're a mute, there is nothing you can say now that a lawyer can't say for you later. Don't listen to them, they lie and will not help you.

If the plants are gone and they find the grow equipment you can still be screwed. They will charge you with Tampering with Evidence if a dog alerts to the location or if the plants are gone and a photo or testimony establishes that plants were there and now gone. In some places, Tampering with Evidence is worse than a cultivation charge.

How in the hell did the plumber get in?

Basically if the cop knocks, don't answer the door. If they kick it in, offer them a tomato and tell them they owe you a new front door, countersuit to follow. Never talk to cops, they are not your friend. Only your attorney is allowed to talk to you, remember it!

See, this is where people think wrong. yes all those things are legal, however if they're all working together to create something illegal, it's very illegal. If cops see all that stuff, EVERYTHING will be combed through and they'll find something. They won't throw their arms up in the air and say YOU GOT US! They will go through bank records, phone records, computer records, you get the idea.

Tearing everything down and moving is the only way to be safe and grow again, if you plan to keep living there i wouldn't even risk growing any time soon.

After doing this for so long, people start to assume it's no big deal growing pot in your spare bedroom and begin to get sloppy and overlook things. That's a very different reality to law enforcement who get bonuses for this shit.

Good advice above - you can't be too careful cleaning. Clean the vacuum bags and garbage and take it away.

If the cops come with a warrant DO NOT TALK TO THEM. If they come without a warrant do not let them in and DO NOT TALK THE COPS.

Consult an Attorney and refer any questions the cops have to the attorney. Yes it will cost you but if you own the house they will try to seize it. Normal in your state should have a list of attorneys.

Even a seemingly small question like, "how long have these houseplants been here" can lead to problems.

Have the rest of your family, wife, kids, whatever, stay with friends or relatives until this blows over so the cops won't question them.

You have the right to remain silent - USE IT.

remove any and all weapons, grow reading material, plastic baggies unless they are in the kitchen. fill the rooms with something else so it looks normal and toss some regular house plants whether fake or real in there. maybe the guy was mistaken and THOUGHT he saw weed but just saw house plants.

Now they can't raid you based on some assholes word, they can or will maybe investigate but you can't raid based simply on a fuckin neighbor. Now if they come by and smell, or check your e-bill and so on maybe they can continue going after you.

I would def. get house plants in there though.

Also if cops come without any real proof you will be able to deal with them in court if need be and odds are win BUT that can get sticky especially with your friend knowing the guy and so on...
