A friend of mine has just started his first grow, an indoor soil grow w/ a 400w HPS, and a medium of 50% perlite and 50% premium general-purpose potting mix which has time-release nutrients. Cab temperatures are on average 35C/95F, as low as 29C/84F, and as high as 39C/102F, though my guess is that the temps are ok (not ideal, but suffice). Air circulation seems fine, with both an intake and exhaust fans. He's been watering with about 275mls/9.3oz of water a day.

As you can see the cotyledons have gone yellow quickly
Here is the exact same seedling, but 11 days older:
So any suggestions as to the cause? (Nutrient burn or deficiency maybe?) And any suggestions as to action to take? I've never done any soil grows myself so hopefully some of the experienced soil growers here will know what's happening.
