Need advice on the effects of these ACE strains

Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased some ACE seeds and I am looking for peoples experiences in relation to the differences between the highs for these strains that I have:

Panama (Fem)
Panama x Banghi Haze (Fem)
Tikal (Fem)

I can only grow a 2 plants of these in my next run.

Specifically, if someone has grown more than one of the above strains I am wanting to know how the highs that they produce compare and contrast to one another.

Any advice is much appreciated.

FYI, you can find a description of the effects for each strain by going to the web page of that strain and then clicking on the "Additional Information" tab.

Ace varieties are known for being exactly the way they are described on their webpage. That's really not bullshit. So honestly just look at the description, make sure you click the additional information tab, like Leaflet said, and see how the effects are different to each other. I can't help you, unfortunately, because of those I've only ever grown Panama. One thing is for sure, you'll love whichever one you do first, because it's all fire.

The descriptions provided by Ace are pretty spot on. From my own personal experience Panama is a well rounded, warm, upbeat and sort of dreamy sativa effect. It's relatively potent but not devastating with a more euphoric than stoney buzz.

The Panama x Bangi was very clean and upbeat. It has a clear uplifting buzz of solid potency. There was basically zero stoneyness and no couch lock in the one I grew. It was about as clean a sativa as I've had.

I've never had Tikal just Guawi which is Tikal x Malawi.

All of them were good.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I did check out the ACE website and have read and re-read the descriptions and various information, I wanted to hear first-hand from people that have actually grown it, and it has nothing to do with doubting the description provided by the ACE growers.

I am after a clean, clear daytime smoke which allows me to enjoy the daily activities and chores and not be too baked ie nailed to the couch.

All three will fit your needs, maybe with panama and tikal you'll be able to sleep a bit more easily compared to panama x bangi haze which is a bit more active and psychedelic at times.

I've grown all three.I'd go for the Panama x Bangi and the Tikal. They will probably finish almost together.Different terp profiles, while if you go for panama and panama x bangi you might get very similar aromas.Koondense is right,of course it always depends on the phenotype and how it is grown. With Panama some red phenos can be really lazy...

Agree with the gents above! Grew Tikal and Panama once in my small setup, they go well together.

Thanks, I have some other strains that I will use for evening for relaxing, and I will be using the ACE strains mentioned exclusively for daytime. But it's good to know.

Those two are pretty much what I have settled on. I think at this point I will keep the Panama seeds in the fridge just in case I get a red pheno which will not suits my needs at the moment.

I am excited to grow the Tikal (and the Panama x Banghi Haze for that point as well), it sounds amazing and very different to the Dutch coffee shop / West Coast USA style varieties I have grown in the past.

Out of all the strains I have grown from Ace and other breeders. Panama and OTH is by far the best. Grown 2 out of the 3 listed. You can get the breeder Panama pack for more selections which I got and suggest doing.

When you say Panama and OTH are the best, do you mean the best for what I'm looking for (daytime, clear non-narcotic high) or that they're your favourites?

Do like the rest of us, and order some seed, grow them out, cure them , and then smoke them...LOL! You will never know unless you run them...:dance013:

Thank you very much for joining ICMag forums and for supporting our work!

As our friends here correctly pointed out, the official strain descriptions on our website are honest and accurate.
If you study them in detail you will be able to choose the ACE genetics that suits you best for your taste, goals and growing environment. There are also plenty of growing and smoke reports about our strains coming from other growers here in the sticky area in this room.

Panama is a very highly worked strain and consistently produces very strong, complex and long lasting cerebral, psychedelic, dreamy and narcotic effects .... more or less depending on the pheno. The feminized version is especially consistent for high quality and strong effects, high yielding, resinous and tight buds. Very indoor friendly, with outstanding bag appeal too. Very refined and complex terpenes as well.

Panama x Bangi Haze produces a mind blowing cerebral and trippy effect of the highest order. It can be too much for smokers not used to very strong sativas. Her incensey and floral terpenes are outstanding, and it also produces very resinous buds in moderate flowering times, although yield is in average not so high like straight Panama.

Tikal produces much more gentle and kind sativa effects of more moderate strength, yet of excellent quality. Very social, uplifting, expansive, non anxious non paranoid sativa effect with very little body effect. She is probably the one that suits better the kind of 'clean, clear daytime smoke effect which allows you to enjoy the daily activities' you are looking for.

Other strains i would recommend with these kind of effects and that are easy to grow are Bangi Haze, Bangi Haze x Ethiopian, Congo, Honduras Breeze, Kali China, Nepal Jam x Kali China, Orient Express regular, Panama x Tikal, Super Malawi Haze, Thai Chi, Zamal Bliss and Zamaldelica fem. Or in case you are ready to deal with the more difficult and longer flowering sativas then: Ethiopian, Haze x Kali China, Green Honduras Haze, Honduras, Honduras x Panama, Panama Haze, Purple Haze x Malawi and Purple Honduras Haze.

Hope it helps and good luck with your grows! :tiphat:

Thank you Dubi for such an in-depth reply. Your advice is very much appreciated. In addition to the three strains discussed in this thread, I also have purchased to try for a daytime smoke:

Orient Express Regular
Kali China Feminised
Congo Regular
Nepal Jam

I have decided to grow this year the Tikal, Kali China, Nepal Jam and Orient Express. This is because I am not accustomed to smoking sativa strains and therefore I am wanting to start with the friendliest of the strains, something that will not make me anxious or paranoid.

For next year I will run the Congo, and either Panama or Panama x Bangi Haze, and also take a look at some of the other strains that you mentioned in your list above.

Furthermore, I'd like to express my gratitude to ACE Seeds generosity in the number of seeds that are received with each order. I consistently receive more than the number of seeds that I pay for which may not seem like a big deal to some people but sometimes that 6th seed when you order a pack of 5 fem seeds can make a big difference to someone, I know it does to me anyway.

Hi Range,

Great selections of strains!
I think it's a great choice to start first with Tikal, Kali China, Nepal Jam and Orient Express,
then go next with stronger sativas like Panama and Panama x Bangi Haze.

Thank you very much for your kind words and support :ying:
