Need advice on my clones

I took these clones 5 days ago. They're in rockwool with clonex on the scraped stem. They looked nice and the leaves were perky for maybe the first 2 or 3 days. The leaves have begun to droop and the stems have begun to turn purple. From researching, the cause of the purple stems is inconclusive, but the mother (Fem NL) has some purple stems and she is healthy.

I have been experimenting trying to find the best DIY humidity dome so they have been moved around a lot. They are currently sitting in the window in a plastic container I got from wal-mart that had a cored pineapple in it that looked perfect for a humidity dome.

As you can see there is plenty of condensation going on inside, but my biggest concern is if I need to make some holes for oxygen to get in? Researching this has also returned mixed results.

Hi there, moving them around will slow their progress.
I would remove the cup to let them breath for a bit each day for ten mins.
You should make holes in the top/sides and try to leave em be.
The ventilation should be increased bit by bit as the days pass, after a week or more it should be removed as they harden off.
Hope this helps.

Too much light, yer forcing them to photosynthesize using energy needed for rooting.

The smaller the container the more air exchanges you need and the faster it heats up also.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

I made a small hole at the top and closed the blinds. We'll see how it does.

many different answers to this question, i find it helps cutting about 2/3 of the remaining leaf off the cuttings, forcing it to make new ones, after about 4-5 days i remove the dome also and just spray a bit of tap water and then no water for a few days.but thats just the way i do it.too many other ways to mention, the more experience you gain the better you will get at it .good luck willyweed

I pulled them out of the rockwool today. One had these white little nubs that formed with some other kind of weird growth that looked like maybe the start of roots but they were pointed upwards. The other had nothing and looked the same as the day I put it in the rockwool. It's been 9 days since.

Quit fiddling with them and let them root! I'm down to rooting powder and organic seed starting mix for my cloning supplies. When I stopped fussing over them with heat mats and domes and whatnot I had much better success. Sounds like you're doing fine but you are a little over attentive.
What do you have tied around the rockwool? You're not supposed to squeeze them you mess up their capacity to hold air which is important for the roots.

I watched George Cervantes tie some string around them to make sure the rock wool makes contact with the stem. Not too tight though. These might be taking so long to root because the rock wool has just been so soaked and couldn't breathe. Haven't watered them in like a week and if you squeeze them they would still drip water.

Your medium may be too wet. I would also put bigger holes in the top of your "dome". Roots come to me when my rockwool starts to dry out. Also as someone else suggested, I cut the leaves 3/4's way down because the cut will waste energy trying to save your leaf. I have a cloning thread in my signature that you may find useful. When all that moisture builds up that you see water, you need to wipe it off from the inside but don't disturb that cuts too much.
