Need advice for my new grow room (250 or 400?)

Hi guys...

i have small space. The dimension aviabile are: (Height*deepness*largeness) 135*50*60 cm, or 53*20*23 inch.

Also if the optimal maximum height is 115 cm (45 inch), so i can put the carbon scrubber on the top, wich is way more practical for me.

I haven't been able to find a cabinet with maximize my space, so i decided to build a wooden one by myself. Hope it won't be too hard

I found a place here around wich, if you give them the measure, they can build a reflector just for yourself.
So i'm planning to build a reflector for my light with a top hole. By this hole i plan to convoy the hot air trough a tube to the fan and the carbon scrubber, so i'll suck hot air just from above the lamp.

I'll be growing just one plant, with a lot of LST. So height is not an issue.

I have to decide if i have to use a 250 W+maybe some neons, or a 400 W.

Do you think my room can stand 400 W? Or they are too much without a glass?

The box is a bigger closet (like 5 square meters), and in july , when i plan to do my last grow, temps inside the house reach up to 30 ( )

I have an AC for my room, but isn't really powerful...

So what you think? 250+neons on the sides, or 400?

How much they charging for a local built reflector ?

I'd use the 400, if you have a efficiant ac hood/reflector...

You can buy a 6" glass tube reflector with wing for 80 bucks.

no they don't have here 6'' glass tube... sad isn't it? i live in southern europe

The guy asked me 10 $ for the aluminum, 5 $ to bend it as i say, and 5 $ to close it with melted aluminum as glue.

If i use those they will be very close to the plants, and i'm afraid that the leaves will touch them and pour some water and fire everything.

Is there a way to run them waterproof?

I'd use a 400, I won't say 250's suck because it will start a flame war with people posting pictures of their 150 and 250W grows. Get a scrubber, and air cool your hood..

Try to make the run of vent as short and unobtrusive as possible. Make it easy for the air to flow, don't restrict. Get a quality 640CFM centrifugal fan (can-fan is quiet I have a 4 year old one and it blows like hell) -might be overkill. You should have plenty of fresh air, limited heat, and odor control. But a 440CFM fan will probably do you too.

ok if i stich to 400 W i need also an UPS because sometimes, on unlucky days, my electrical system goes nut and black out for very short periods.

So how much VA i need to supply 500 W for half an hour?

no it's way too much fan power. I have up to 80 cfm. How much watt can i keep?

For one plant a 250 could certainly do the job with a much lower temperature than a 400.

If you can buy or have fashioned a hood with or without the glass cover that has a

flange that you hook a small computer fan to exhaust. I ran a 400 watt dwc this way

in a similar amount of space (more headroom and width, not by much though). I had a

small vortex fan blowing intake from the basement the exhaust mixed with the intake

and the temps evened out although the smell was significant because of the passive

venting without a scrubber. Ahhhh, my first hydro grow........*sniff*

Yeah yeah it's just a question of power: My house can stand 450 W and they are a lot. 500 i don't think.

When i was using my old PC, wich had a 400 W power, often goes blackout.

It's because here civilian power goes up to 2kW. The 4 kW make you pay twice the power.

Why not flouros?

Yeah i was thinking to 250 HPS+110 W of neon. It sounds cool to you?

What i didn't understood is: How do you power the neon? Wich kind of starter i have to look for? They exist also waterproof?
