Save all your money on cloning gels.
Put your cuttings under your tongue for 30 seconds each. The enzymes in your saliva does something to the clones to make them take off.
Also use distilled water only and bada bing.
I do not use gels or powders anymore. I get around a 80% cloning rate of success. The rest meet jesus.

I've completly dropped gels in favor of a liquid dip..that has 3different rooting hormones..along with rapid rooters my sucess has just skyrocketed.The speed at which the new cuttings root is mind boggling..we've cut our time virtually in half..I'll have to find the specific brand and post it...
I have tried half my clones with rooting gel and the other without, and they both rooted the same. I did the same experiment with rooting powder and I got the same results. I concluded the gels and powders don't do much other than prevent mold. Thats what I have noticed, but I'm sure there will be others with different results.
I did these experiments a few years ago. Actually, I ran out of rooting gel half way through the first time, and thats how I got the idea to try the powder also. Keep in mind this was with only one type of clone, so it could be that different genetics could get differenty results. That said, I never use the stuff anymore and I get close to 100% succcess rate using a thermodome and rockwool moist not wet.

I did an experiment using clonex and no rooting hormone....
and found significant differences....
after 9 days in the cloner....
all 18 rooted.... with and without hormone....
But the quality of roots were very different...

at 8$ a bottle i just buy it for the hell of it.. but when I run out.. this has been my experience too... dont notice much of a difference,,,, success ratios imo more have to do with keepin the cubes moist not wet + good temps.

Hell, I have even thrown cuttings straight into moist soil which were cut with rusty blades and scissors and they grew beautifully.
I will stay with my way which is cheaper than spending hard earned cash on products which give me another 15%-20% rate of cloning success.
I have a 72 site cloning tray and to get 57 clones out of 72 who live to see my pipe is not bad for free. In other words, I do not get bummed if I lose 15 clones out of 72. The money spent to see another 15 clones live is just not worth it.

There was a Canadian study done which showed cloning domes who received a daily dose of human breath (CO2) produced healthier plants (more bud in the end). Even if the CO2 regime was stopped after transplant, the clones who got the quick shots of human breath did better than clones who did not get the same treatment.

It was a Canadian University which sponsored the study. It was a college name which I had never heard of but then I do not know all of the colleges in Canada either.
The study appeared legit and I had no reason to doubt their findings. The studies were done in carefully controlled conditions but I suspect you do not believe it. I am not hear to convince anyone to change anything they are doing and merely wanted to disseminate information which was posted and then taken down.
So for what it is worth, I tend to keep an open mind about these studies. It appears these types of specific studies are lacking from any marijuana communities or forums I have read anywhere.

PlantRoids quickroot works real well!
I love dip n gro. The only reason that I like it over most gels is i've had a bad habit of mistreating my gel and it grows bacteria or fungus of some sort. I'm not a cloning dome user either. I use perlite with a wick setup or just water in the bottom of the perlite with a 90% success rate. Yet, you can't have fans blowing on them because they won't take low humidity very well without a dome. NO fungus, No effort , and roots in 7-10 days in most cases.
