looks like manzanita too me, not sure which species. one of the bigger ones thats for sure as most grow as bushes.

Is that a birch plantation forest or nursery, Zathir?

I've seen those red barked trees before,but can't remember who posted them... You may be able to look back in THIS thread and find them... good luck... :D May be a kind of birch or cinnamon.... :confused:

dangbongdang - you named 2 of my favourite feathered friends :joint: i always see the chickadees grabbign a seed, then they go crack it open, then they stash it somewhere. pretty funny to watch the gray jays come in a steal their freshly cached food. camp robbers we call em

I shot this one from Hoover Dam:




This is Walker Lake, Nevada. High desert country. Shot it from a moving car...lol

On january the 1st and the 2nd my town had a biggest snowfall in last 10 years (according to statustics) - 25cm of snow, but i cann't rememebr any bigger than this one in last 20 years. In some places, wind moved the snow to make depth even to one half of meter.
On this picture, you can see an young Trachycarpus fortunei palm (Chusan Windmill Palm) planted in my garden, covered up with 0,5m snow. It might look stressfull for her, but it isn't: it will protect her trunk from low temps.
