This summer i had 10 days vacation in Greece, Halkidiki peninsula, it's middle (or second) finger (Halkidiki peninsula consist of 3 smaller peninsulas called fingers or legs), in small village Toroni. Only 300 residents, about 1000-1500 tourists and 2,5 kilometers long sandy beach. No rush, everything works very slow and easy. And the nature speaks for itself.
Small stone lagoon by the old Byzantine fortress ruins. White line in the background is Toroni beach.
Another small lagoon, this one with white pebbles. It is octopuss fishing place.
Island Helona 10 kilometers north of Toroni. Helona in Greek language means Turtle. Wonder why.
a couple arrowheads found in the past year. the first two are flint, the third is quartz. the one in the middle as a birdpoint and the smallest i've seen yet, its perfect no breaks. i couldn't believe it when i picked it up.
Daisy Jane, awesome place you've shot. Where is it?
Pipeline, i think that happy couple is having a great time. Know that story about ant and a grasshopper? I always thought that grasshopper is much more than a "Fly guy". Now i'm certain about it.
Autumn has definitely arrived to my area (even almost everything is still green), but i got some more summer photos to share.
First, a very special species of frog, living ina fresh waters of south Balkans. They have somewhat "metalized" skin color. Believe me, it was very difficult to capture this pic, i have waited for a long time to come closer, they're cautious creatures.
Turtles in the small creek are one of the main attractions in Toroni. There's a hundreds of 'em, and if you throw some slice of bread or any other food, the fight over it will start ina few seconds.
Hm, no wonder, they're ready for fight, look at that long neck, a real predator.
