Natural Terpene Booster: Does Your Area Have a Rabbitry?

Good question thank you, and the answer is yes. I have read a great number of studies on rabbits now, and the main difference is the NPK values of the poop according to the diet they're on. Right now my rabbits get oat, barley and wheat straw as a beneficial part of their diet and this lowers the nutritional content of their poop. On the other hand it's healthier for the rabbit and that's the way I want it, low stress, high quality poop. :D

Over the next few years I'll be altering their diet for higher phosphorous and lower potassium levels. I'm pretty sure using r/o water will lower the potassium but time and testing will be needed.

Where do you get it tested? Must be cheap if you’re willing to do a second test. I remember paying like 200$ for testing my well water for hardness a few years back.
Didn’t have any info on NPK, boron and many others either.

Got that shit going on right now, if you know what I mean 😂.

On the right is the fresh rabbit poop. I originally got 1 bag of fresh and one bag of aged poop but as soon as i left the farmers place, my whole car reeked of foul fermented piss from the aged rabbit poop. Had to pull over and ditch it not even 30 seconds after leaving the place. I had put it in the trunk and all my car windows were open and still the smell was too powerful.
Anyways, the farmer told me that i could put 1-2 inch of fresh poop at the top of the pot but I didn’t take any chances. Here’s how much I put. Hoping that will be enough to see a difference in the final product. I applied once after transplant and the start of my flowering phase.

Rock on! :) The aged was wet or it would not stink, oops!

The 2" layer is a spring time recommendation, where it will break down over a few months time and get watered in. What you have there will lightly supplement whatever else you have going on in your soil. You might want to make a weak tea with about the same amount in a gallon of clean water with a lid(outside!). Stir once a day till the poop breaks down to a sludge and then filter it. Might need to dilute it further. You can water the roots with a weak 'tea.' Lighter in color than a cup of lipton or other tea you would drink.

Just for terps? Once a week drench, at least 2 times at the beginning of flower definitely makes a difference. :)

Thx but I’m not a fan of making teas. I will try it this way and if i don’t see any difference I’ll try making teas next crop to see if it’s worth the hassle.
I saw u mentionning the addition of calcium. Was it because your soil was lacking in that department or do you see or taste a difference?
Also whats your soil recipe if you don’t mind me asking

Making tea is not for everyone. ;) I completely understand.
The easiest way I know is to mulch with it or start with it in the spring. Potted plants I mix with inert soil up to 40% or topdress depleted soils with a 1 to 2" layer.

I prefer depleted or neutral/unfertilized/inert soils with cannabis. When I know a cut I can premix manure straight in the soil. Everything else gets tea once a week, varying strength accordingly.

The calcium is mainly for selling to other gardeners, and before the soil is depleted and on pure bunny poo. I use the tea as a foliar with lacto bacillus, then follow about a week later with a calcium and lacto bacillus foliar. I'm also under LEDs, so the added calcium works well. ;)

Here is a male Bekka Valley Lebanese (P3??) leaf...

The thrips/root-aphid damage was from the plant running on just mother earth something or other soil. Once I start the foliar regimen the plants get really healthy... so the bugs left. :)

I have a new rabbit hole you might be interested in Douglas. It’s called
JLF = JADAM Liquid Fertilizer
Look it up it’s supposed to increase terpenes. I need you to tell me if it’s better than rabbit poop.
Let me know. I am waiting for my crop to finish and will post my findings here to see if alpaca is better than rabbit poop

If you can find a mix of plants which putrefy to terpene precursors in abundance, you'll possibly have similar results. Finding the right mix of plants is a huge research project on its own though.

JADAM is low tech next to what I'm doing now. I've been reading a rather narrowly focused range of research papers the last two months. ;)

Edit: Found out the ranking nutrient wise, but not terpene yet.
Rabbit
Alpaca
Chicken
Compost
Then the ruminents with cow being last.
Rabbit has the highest NPK, micros and trace elements of any domesticated animal. Crazy.

And just like that we all bought rabbits
LOL Ideally most of the people in your neighborhood should be raising them. The reality in today's america is squandering water and space to grow lawns, and buying low nutrient value meat and produce from the store.

Rabbits are not for everyone though, the cute little buggers can die in 24hrs if not cared for properly. They do make great, sociable, litter trainable, quiet pets, but in volume they require a lot of care and effort to maintain bright and happy bunnies.

Nah I'm just joking. I think I'm more in line for chickens next. I grew up on a farm and had lots of different critters.
My current outdoor grow has about 6 rabbits hiding in it. I was worried they would try to chew on my plants but so far we are coexisting in harmony. I saw a baby last week. It was about the size of my hand.
The grow is fenced in. they have a safe place now; free from coyotes.
I guess I will observe how quickly they can reproduce now without predators...

Bunnies are quiet and do not fly. I absolutely detest chickens where I can see, smell or hear them. :(

Your enclosure will quickly run out of any edible plants. (Edit: oops, fergot they'll burrow out when they want to. lol) Rabbits can have a litter in the morning and get pregnant that afternoon. You'll see between 6 to 14 new bunnies every 30 days...

They are delicious, but you'll have to trap them and process them somewhere away from the pen. Rabbits are smart little buggers.
