Natural c02 generator

Hey guys and gals! Was just doing some thinking....I have a friend who makes his owns wines and ciders. He was trying to sum up how it works to me, and was saying the yeast eats the sugar, poops out alchohol and c02! There is a little regulator on tob of his jugs, and he was saying thats to realease the c02 when it builds up. On the shelf above these jugs where a asortment of houseplants. Like we all know, plants love c02. There were all growing down into the shelf below, like they were trying to get as close to the c02 release point as possible. This got me thinking, is there a way to do this to effeciently generate alot of c02 for your room? I have a 4'x4'x5.5' room. Also if I remember right, way back when on OG, I heard some people talking about using dry ice in their rooms. Anyone have any imput on these, maybe some links to other threads? I've done some searching around, but to no prevail as of yet. Thanks all!

Being that real co2 enrichment with obvious effects is pretty much an exact science,I'd only recommend a generator or tank and regulator for co2 enrichment, all other processes are a waste of time IMO.For one thing you dont want wide fluctuations which is what happens when yeast of dry ice is used,it takes time for the plant to utilize the higher PPMs and if you're skippin and jumpin around on your ppm levels you are just spinning your wheels.I've used co2 for years, and its literally taken me that long to understand and use it to my advantage.Even a good generator like green air used with a cyclestat(dual timer to control frequency and length of burn time)I found to be pretty ineffective because of the wide variation in PPms that the cyclestat would produce. It wasnt until I got an actual controller where I could set it and the PPMs fluctuate no more than 300 that I really started seeing what co2 enrichment is about.Get everything right first.temps humidity light, then worry about the 1000 dollars minimum its going to cost you to get true co2 enrichment.

will the gas places allow you to fill an empty propant tank with co2? How much does it cost by the lb? what does the regulator cost? I'm looking to grow about 50 plants in a grow can and I want to optimize my results.

No you cant use a propane tank for co2.Like I said about 450 for the generator and 500 for the cap ppm3 the cheapest controller by far,and you should be there. If you dont have 50W sq ft minimum of hortilux light, dehumidifier, window AC,wall mount oscillating fans and some killer pheno's,co2 should be the last thing on your mind.I'm not trying to discourage you at all I hope you dont take it that way,its just that all these fly by night co2 idea's just dont yield results, and the only thing that will is the correct equiptment used under the right conditions.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking it would be anything significant. Just pondering on the idea more or less. Thanks for your replies everyone.
