This is the LEAD story all over the Bay Area, gotta say if this guy hits the prison yard, he will HAVE to be segregated or he will be farting easily or be dead......what a total loser (if he is truly guilty....innocent until proven guilty and all that).

This should be in the news section, not legislation.

This is a huge case in Nor Cal ...fascinating in that involves the Commander of one of Northern California's largest drug enforcement agencys know as CNET or
"Central Contra Costa Narcotics Enforcement Team"

This is Contra Costa County Drug Task force one of the larger & most affluent counties in the entire United States of America ...and this is no exaggeration .

No small case this ...will be followed by every police/ task force in the nation .,

The thing baffling me is the structure of the charges ended
up with the Chief Narcotics cop, got a lower bail than his private eye friend of 25yrs ...but he was the one who had access to all the drugs . Guess it hinged on flight risk & the Chief Narcotics officer had so many ties to the community & family . This isn't going to set well with Butler who's still sitting in jail this weekend & really sweating it with a 900k bail still .

As if this case doesn't get even more like a written script out of tv drama this Chris Butler owner of Butler and Associates Private Investigations ...a former cop who served with Wielsch as an officer for the Antioch PD, has been getting a lot of press for employing unassuming Soccer Moms as private investigators. "P.I. Moms of San Francisco", a reality TV show filmed over 2010 and starring Butler's crack team of undercover investigators was even rumored to begin airing next month on Lifetime.

Think that is one reality show that isn't going to make it on aire now ...what were these guys thinking ? But typical though of Contra Costa county where emphasis is on how much money & affluence you can pretend to have , people will do anything to maintain their social status with some of the more affluent areas in the country out there .
They'll do anything for money ...

yea this is TV stuff...that cop was using MILFS to do his undercover work...that makes alot of sense because when i lived in the CCC there are soccer moms everywhere. even if these pigs go to jail they are probably gonna get special treatment from COs....seperate cells with internet and takeout food delivered...fuck cops..

Well of the 25- 28 felonies both the Narcotics Chief & Butler are charged with , would be really interesting to see that entire list ...but the one charge they shouldn't have gotten is the Marijuana sales , think we all can agree .

Most every article i've read states simply that
http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/east_bay&id=7968977

Prosecutors say the former commander of a state narcotics task force in Contra Costa County has acknowledged stealing and selling drugs that were seized during raids.

His Narcotics team was resoponsible for taking down mid to high level "drug dealers" & charges stem from selling drugs while carrying a firearm , conspiracy , taking siezed narcotics from eveidence ....this is a huge list of counts against them , & of course many of them will be plead down .

Wonder whats going thru his mind now after all the people he's put in jail & the families that suffered because of it ? Guess you have to give the DOJ some credit for doing their own in house cleaning but only since January which is a really small period of time . But these guys were doing deals out in parking lots which any cop knows is not a thing you do & easy to observe . There must be alot of surviellience evidence amassed against them by the DOJ investigators for him to admit the charges so freely ?

Their lives are utterly ruined by this , even if the mjaority of felonies are plea bargained out .

I guess many prisoners are waiting for him at the county jail..:moon:

Hahaha, corruption is everywhere..

Talk about a good profit margin huh ? No , the Narc chief got bailed out on reduced bail
($400K)after 3 days but his PI friend is still in sweating on $900K bail <g

Found the people's felony complaints document here listing the 28 violations of the California health & safety codes where each is listed as being observed or witnessed buy some DOJ sting observer. A really long list of counts :

They're not winning the phony 'War on Drugs' so why not join 'em , prolly at the bottom of their thinking ...so he was just busting them by day & selling what he busted by night . Steroids, speed , coccaine , all the goodies affluent society needs to party . All are just rampant out in Contra Costa county . Upwards of 55% of all high school atheletes (or more )are doing steroids out there where everyone wants to look "Buff" in their ride . Its an "American" thing where the guy with the muscles & can flash the cash gets the girls ...and this huge affluent/conservative Nor Cal valley area is all about that . This area has more Pro Athletes living there than anywhere else in the US .

There's going to be a messy finger pointing trial case to follow where these so called friends of 25yrs are going to try to implicate the other . The private dick friend was described by one of his investigators as a master of deception & a dick, they prolly were selling drugs years ago when they were cops together in Antioch . One thing is sure , you can bet Narc Commander Wielsch will become a firm advocate in his mind now of the decriminalizing "drugs" after years of busting people & getting caught doing the same . And you can bet that these guys aren't the only cops out in that affluent area dealing yayo, meth & steroids ...<g

Wonder why the DOJ targeted these guys ? Cause there's prolly many more
& has been all along , hypocrites .

Interesting they were charged with embezzlement. The Gov is like those drugs belong to us and you stole them and they had a street value. I consider a 900k bail pretty damn high, the judge was pissed probably because those guys just made all of the legal system look like dirt. I bet they do a fair amount of time for this one

anybody hear anything new about this ?

The plot just gets thicker & sadder... alledged kidnapping , impersonating officers & explosive sales (next post)

The DA has evidence that Narco Chief Wielsch & his cohort Butler did a masquerade back in 2009 & orchestrated a "fake bust" on a kid & kidnapped him . This was done while Butler had his employees dress up as Antioch policemen & confiscated 4000 xanax pills which they think ended up in their drug stash

-- Former Central Contra Costa Narcotics Task Force commander Norman Wielsch supervised a fake 2009 arrest in which private investigator Christopher Butler and his employees masqueraded as Antioch police officers and kidnapped a young man at gunpoint, a prosecutor said in court Wednesday.

The kidnapping occurred across the street from the Pleasant Hill Police Department and was orchestrated by Butler on behalf of a client -- the mother of the kidnapped man, who wanted her drug-addicted son "scared straight," deputy district attorney Jun Fernandez said.

The mother showed up during the ruse and feigned surprise before allowing the fake police to search her son's room, Fernandez said. Butler confiscated 4,000 Xanax pills found in the room; investigators believe it is the same stash found on the private investigator's property in the wake of his and Wielsch's Feb. 16 arrest on 28 felony drug charges.

The incident, filmed by Butler & Associates employees, was one reason why Butler's $900,000 bail should not be decreased, Fernandez told the judge in Contra Costa Superior Court. Kidnapping charges could be pending, the prosecutor said, as investigators look into the 2009 incident.

"I'm disinclined to lower bail for Mr. Butler after hearing these incidents by Mr. Butler," Judge Nancy Davis Stark said. "A mother cannot give someone permission to kidnap her son at gunpoint "... that was Mr. Butler's decision."

MARTINEZ, Calif.—Authorities say a Contra Costa County private investigator who allegedly sold drugs stolen from a state-run drug task force also tried to find buyers for military-grade explosives.

According to a search warrant affidavit, 49-year-old Christopher Butler asked a state justice department informant whether the informant could find a buyer for two bricks of the explosive C-4.

Authorities say the discussion took place when the informant was giving Butler money for marijuana and steroids in February. Butler is accused of selling the drugs with Norman Wielsch, the former head of the Central Contra Costa Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Butler and Wielsch are facing 28 felony charges. They are expected to enter pleas on Wednesday.

Butler's attorney, Bill Gagen, declined to comment on the affidavit to the Contra Costa Times.

Fuck them pigs! Nothing worse than a cop that busts drug dealers, then takes their shit and sells it. Fuckers think they're above the law. Wonder what the inmates will do to them when they go in.
