Thanks General. So what do you suggest I keep my EC at with a pH of 5.8? With my pH between 6 and 6.2 I had it from 1.4 to 1.6 with no major problems (about .4 EC is liquid karma). When dropping my pH to 5.8 should I also drop my EC?

I didn't really think having an EC of 1.8 could burn my plants that bad. I always hear about people using EC 2 and more.

Should I do a clearex flush and change res or should I just keep the EC low now?

Sproutco, thanks, I will try to go find that book.

hey pico...It's a lockout for sure, lockout could be something that has happened pre dilution or post dilution...If the bottles of product were exposed to heat or cold at anytime during their storage period it could have locked up nutes. How old are your nutrients bottles? Have you used these bottles of nutrient before this grow? Have the bottles been subjected to extreme hot or cold since then? Have you used the liquid lime before? There is a problem, but it might not be your fault...

General- Yeah I switched to bloom nutes day 1. I actually only used 10ml per gallon of pbp bloom so not full strength. But yeah I should have given the plants better light during veg. Lucas seems to talk a lot about going full strength nutes from day 1 as long as the light is intense. Do you have different experiences with this? I think So Quick went bloom nutes from day 1 full strength as well.

kokua-
Heat....Yes
Cold....YEs
Age....PBP hasn't been used in a year.
Liquid lime....first time user

but the nutes seemed to be doing an OK job there for a while. I think I am going to flush the wool out, remix some nutes at a low ec and go from there. Do you think I should flush and change with new nutes? I don't have any new PBP around, but I have some GH 3 part lying around that is fresh. Should I flush out the Botanicare and try the lucas formula?

Interesting thing to note. I just noticed that my propane tank was empty. So my grow was running without CO2 the last few days. That would have something to do with this.

Thanks for the responses.

holy hell. I just tested a couple rockwool cubes by running RO water through them and testing runoff. The runoff maxed out my EC meter!!! I think that I was underwatering which caused too much evaporation in the rockwool cubes and then the nutrient buildup. I just flushed with clearex 10 days ago but I don't feel like things get flushed very well in ebb flow. I just tested runoff after flushing a few cubes a few different ways and I think running lots of water down through the cube does the best job.
