I'm going to just start copying my journal that I handwrite into here...the form might be strange at times, but it'll be informational. I'm going to start making my own seeds and pulling some moms and dads out...so stay tuned:

Nirvana Blue Mystic #1 - Larger of the 2 Blue Mystics I have growing. This baby flowered really quickly. It's had very fast and thick growth. Phenotype has been exactly like the other blue Mystics I've grown, just a larger scale. Definitely Indica Dominant from what I can tell. Plant was sexed and revegged to pull clones. DON"T SUGGEST DOING THIS!! All her leaves are 3 leaves now and the plant looks a little scragily...but flowering again. Plant is about 5 weeks old and 1 week into flower.

Nirvana Blue Mystic #2 - Smaller of the 2 growing obviously considering the other is the larger...Pheno is exactly like #1...same flower/reveg/flower symptoms. Hopefully they won't hermie!!! But if they do I'll just get the pollen maybe???

Bagseed #1 - AKA (Not sure yet...maybe you can help me decide) - This plant is AWESOME!!! From what I can tell it's Sativa Dominant. Small thin leaves. Nodes are super tight...maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch at most. Tons of branching and tons of budding sites. Super bushy plant and loved the LST I gave it earlier in it's time in my closet.

Bagseed #2 - AKA (Not sure here either) - This plant is very fast growth initially, but has really gotten stocky lately. The stalk is about as fat as a fat sharpie already and the leaves are huge!!! Looks like what I would think the Maple Leaf Indica would be...but I highly doubt that's what it is! This was some street buds...great buds, but still not sure what the strain would be...but it'll still be cool to have some variety. Not too branchy of a plant, definitely an Indica based upon what I see. Leaves are very leathery feeling.

The previous 4 plants are currently going into their 6th week, but 1 week true flower. All are female. All have been currently feeding on Miracle Grow all purpose, but I have some teas brewing...so I'm going organic...just feel if I'm going to make theeffort, might as well have the best taste possible. Although I'm going to make a mini bubble bucket soon to try out.

The newbies...

Afroman's Durban Poison #1 - Seed was cracked and just popped it's head above ground yesterday. I've got a snapshot of my veg/mother/clone alcove and you can see it's head popping up. It's the stack of cups in the back. Looking for either male or female...obviously female is preferred though.

Nirvana's White Widow #1 - Same as Durban Poison...but the front stack of cups.

Flying Dutchman Mixed Sativa Divas #1 - In the paper towel
Nirvana Indoor Mix - In the paper towel

Of each of those packages I picked the smallest of the seeds in each pack. Indoor Mix appeared to be divided into 3 groups and did appear to have a few different looking groups of seeds...different sizes and shapes.

Mixed Sativa Divas seeds were all together but had some different Phenos if you will in the mix. I don't care which one I get...they all sound awesome!!!

Indoor Mix Options - all of which kick ass - Master Kush, Afghan, Pure Power Plant, Skunk #1, Nirvana Special

Mixed Sativa Diva Options - Thai Tanic, Swazi Sa, Fuma Con Dios - all of them give me a chubby.

I also have a Blue Mystic mother that was in really rough shape after being harvested that has just recently shown promising signs of revegging effectively...can't wait to clone her!!! She was some smooth ass smoke! Made the old lady a little excited too! I cut off the one bigger bud that was on this mother and smoked it...I was desperate this weekend and it really wasn't revegging like I'd hoped, so I cut it down...but the other two are revegging nicely.

I also decided to untie the LST because I'm going to reuse my old cab which is 6 feet high, so height is not a restriction...so I figured what the hell, why waste time tying down...LST is a lot of effort and I was impressed with how it made the plant grow, but with this many plants it would just be too cumbersome to do it constantly with over 7 plants going.


Clones are doing OK as you can see as well. No roots yet. going to make a better cloner soon. This one did not allow for enough space for the stem and roots to be pulled back out...Oh well, I'll just cut it.
Soil I'm using:

1 part Farfard 3B Mix (Dirt, Vermicilite, Perilite)
1 part EWC
1 part Manure Compost .5-.5-.5
1 part Mushroom Compost
1 part Perilite
Powdered Eggshells
Lime

Sounds like you have the possibility for making some really interesting crosses with that variety Mystic. I never thought about buying mix packs myself.. Mainly cause I thought it would be difficult to pinpoint the strains in the mix. I'm thinking now though that if your just looking for a few nice plants the possibility of having a good variety of plants for breeding is there. I wish you luck, and hope it works out for you

It's also good hearing you liked the blue mystic....Eventually, someday I'll get around to growing out my pack. What's the flavor of your bluemystic like? I read a thread on here mentioning finding some pretty skunky smelling plants in the mix.. Did you get anything like that in ur pack? To be honest I'd be happy with either skunky or berry plants, maybe even a skunk-berry... I picked up the strain cause originally I wanted to see if there were any berry phenos to find, but finding a good skunk type would excite me just as much

What's the flavor of your bluemystic like? I read a thread on here mentioning finding some pretty skunky smelling plants in the mix.. Did you get anything like that in ur pack?

Honestly, the taste had a skunky taste with some very very mild berry under tones...but not a ton. If you had the freshy hit you might taste it some. On a Vape though it tastes great throughout. The smell was not as strong as I thought, which was nice because I didnt' have a carbon filter at the time and there was no smell in the house really...so that's worth mentioning I suppose.

Thanks for stopping in Postman...as for the variety packs...any breeding would be done simply for experimentation and would be for my purposes only...so i figured who cares which sativa I get because they all sound good...same for the indoor mix.

here's some pics and updates for you all....

As you can see in these first few pics I completely redid the ventilation. These first few pictures just show you the fan that I used and the carbon scrubber that I built. The scrubber is about 6” in diameter and holds almost 2lbs of carbon. That attachment to the fan??? Why that’s the lid to the carbon container that I cut off. A dryer hose connected the two perfectly as you’ll see.













These next few pics are the hottie shots from my girls in the cabinet. The first plant is Bag Seed 1 which is the really branchy one. It’s going to have a ton of budding sites…I’m ready. There are three pics of it.









The next set of pics is for the Bag Seed 2 which is the huge leaved indica. You’ll see I did a great job fimming this one and it has like 5 tops…should be crazy.









These next few are Blue Mystic 1. Getting tall and really starting to show a ton of hairs now…not buds yet…but soon enough.






Blue Mystic 2 – same as 1, just a smidge smaller.





As you can see my clones finally rooted…are they ready to be planted or give them a few more days??








As you can see the cove is getting full…4 new sprouts started.





You can see in this one that the Durban Poison has taken off…it’s the big one. The other is the White Widow and the unpopped but cracked seed is the indoor mix. You’ll see in the next pic that the Diva has just popped too.

yeah, that mother plant was oh so sweet and with it coming along nicely, it allows me the option now to go ahead and flower out these clones instead of keeping one to hold onto the Blue Mystic strain...so I'm pretty excited about that.

I'm hoping to have a White Poison or Durban Widow...or some sort of name in the next 6 months...so...stick around...glad you are excited about the line up like me.

Here's an update for you all...

Here's a couple of shots of the girls right before the lights came on...I got in there just in time. I've noticed some good buds forming over the past few days and the old lady is happy to see buds forming as well...she hates the veg part...says it's boring to watch...well, she'll have plenty to watch...that's for sure.







Here's some pics of the different sprouts we have going...the Durban Poison is looking good...in order they are Indoor Mix then Sativa Diva then White Widow then Durban Poison. ww and dp were planted on the same day...how crazy is that? Diva and Indoor mix were planted 2 days apart.

Ok, so it's been a little over a week since my last update and quite a bit has happened...

Here's the few pics of the clones I was working...ended up getting 9 that rooted and 2 of the 9 I planted together, so I'll have 8 cloned pots...here ya go..


The clones seem to have good roots and seem to be doing well...these pics were taken on the 17th...




As you can see in this cove is getting crowded as can be...

The clones are looking pretty good and seem to be happy with their new soil homes...


Here are the newest additions to the family...Durban Poison on the left, Sativa Diva in the middle and White Widow on the right. I ended up tossing the indoor mix seedling...it was growing way to slow to be worth the hassle...still tempted to do the same with the Widow...it's a slow grower too...we'll hold tight for another week or so...

Here's the plant still named "Bagseed 1" Any other suggestions? You can see the branching has paid off and I've done some trimming of the undergrowth and will continue to do so over the next few weeks as little popcorn develops...over all I'm very happy with this plant and look forward to what it may become. When you rub the buds it's a sweeter more citrus type smell..






Here's a pic of some bad leaves...I'm assuming nute burn, but the other 3 plants held up with no signs at all...so maybe this strain needs less ferts I guess?



OK...OK...I did it...I totally hacked "Bagseed 2"...it was growing way to slow and all kinds of 1 leaved nodes that really made the plant ugly and a hassle to work with...so I totally trimmed the bottom off and left the top...it's still not doing too much, so it may be tossed in the next week or so if it doesn't step up...I've got DP,SD and WW that need some room to grow...





Here's where my mother clone has been pulled from...Blue Mystic 1...a great looking plant...nice compact growth with a ton of buds forming and it loves then nutes...just top dressed all plants with about 1/2 inch of EWC and they are loving the upgrade...







Blue Mystic 2 is holding it's own very well...it's stretched a little more than BM1 which is why it's a little more Off center of the pot...on my next go around I'm going to plant on the edge and pull across instead of planting inthe middleofthe pot...

Now, my questions for some of you out there...I know there are 100s or probably 1000s of possible strains out there...but any similar to the Bagseed 1 that you've seen that have a citrusy smell??? My Blue Mystics smell like fuel when you rub their buds...and this one is a much sweeter smell.

What about the bad leaves...am I on the right track? I've only ferted 1 time at 1/2 strength...

I'm really interested to see how the Durban turns out for you. Always nice to see some sativas grow. I happen to like durban with their smaller size (for sativa anyway), and quicker flower time it's probably a really great choice to work with indoors. Prolly benefit from a bit more light then the average hybrid I'd think though. Any idea where exactly the durban comes from as far as seed bank?

The bagseed1.. Hmm as a guess I'd say it probably stems from a skunk, or skunk hybrid. It looks like a sativa dominant hybrid, and a sweeter lemon aroma I is quite common amongst the sweeter skunk strains. A lot of strains out there have a lil skunk in em so it's probably not such a bad or wild guess LOL.

As far as the bad leaves I wasn't sure at first with the first pic, but looking at the whole plant pic the leaves in the back are those burnt at the tips, and is the foliage a darker green? usually nutrient burn starts at the tip, and is accompanied with darker leaves, sometimes pointing down/claw (nitrogen at least IME). I'm not the best at plant diagnosis but if the answers are yes to the above it probably is slight burning. I would also do a check of the run off ph on the next watering just to double check that as well. check the ph of your solution being watered in, and compare it to that of the run off ph. If all else fails take it the infirmary some of the folks who help there know their shit.

Postman: As always, it's a pleasure having you stop by my closet...I haven't taken any new pics of the D.P...but will tomorrow for you. I've pulled 4 clones and am trying to root the ice cube tray method... The D.P. has come from Afropips seeds. Was referred by Dr. Chronic...which is where I get my seeds from...what about the rest of you?


PhillyPride: Your girls are looking nice!!! Congrats bro...is the first time growing this strain? If so, you are in for some good ass smoke. The first time I harvested it I pulled at about 65 days and it was too much couch lock for me, so the next time around...without option due to going out of town, I pulled her around 55 days, which was a wee wee bit too soon..maybe a day or so...but still was better than 65 IMO, but I like a heady high most of the time...I have kids and have to keep up with them EVEN after "taking a good poopie" LMAO

Well, these pictures are from a few days back and I don't have time to update them now, but I've had problems uploading myphotos...in any case, Here's a phatty bud shot from the Bag Seed 1...really is becoming a fine plant.

OK, OK...don't laugh just yet...but ok, so here's the deal...I've been growing with CFLs for a while now and kept getting frustrated with the amount of lost light and reflector options...so being the pot smoker that I am, came up with this idea...may be new, may be old...but regardless here it is.

What I bought:

Dixie Paper Bowls
Foil

What I needed:

Scissors

All I did was experiment with the size of the hole and basically just cut a hole in the center of the bottom of the bowl about the same size as the ballast part of the bulb...I then wrapped the inside of the bowl with foil with the satin side facing out. I then took off the bulb, gently slid the bowl over the ballast...and wha-la...you get what's in the picture...seems to be working beautifully...no more lost light and now my box is ugly as poo...so that's always kind of funny!

Anyhow, hope everyone appreciates my stoner idea!

Looking good bro! and yeah everyone is having problems uploading pics, I have grown a few dif Blues as in DJ Shorts Original Blueberry 2002-2003 and DJ Shorts True Blueberry more recently I have a half assed smoke and grow report on both of them on my grow diary thread, but to be short the Original Blueberry is a pain in the ass to grow but the finished product is better than 85% of whats out now a days. The True Blueberry looks great taste great but has NO punch! This is my first run with the blue mystic and she is looking much better than I expected I am at 53 days with a heavy amount of cloudy trichs I will take her when I have %15 amber and the rest cloudy I am looking for a supreme couchlock lol good luck bro keep it green

Philly...thanks for swinging through again...next time, try and pick me up a steak and cheese brother! LOL. IN any case, I did about 25% amber my first harvest and it kicked my ass and made me lazy as hell...but with a great head high. 2nd harvest wasn't even all cloudy yet, but that was due to going out of town and I had no choice but to pull early...Oh well!

This time around I'm going to pull right as I see Amber and I think that'll put me where I need to be.

No real picture updates today...tied the branch on the bonsai down a little lower...Still no sex on the WW, SD or DP...so maybe tomorrow...I'm getting inpatient...in the nose...out the mouth...OK.

Also, 2 of the 6 clones I pulled have died...I guess Mr. Postman's method isn't the way for me...this is my 2nd time trying it and 2 time failing...I suppose maybe I'm getting them too wet? Not sure. I'm going to try the straight up soil method next time...which I suppose would be easier once they were rooted anyhow...I'm just frustrated with this cloning gig...I was able to root well with my bubble rooter, but it took over 2 weeks just to get roots...Maybe it's the strain? Who knows. I'll keep you posted.

Anyhow, Thanks for swinging by everyone and I'll shoot some pics later and throw them up.

All previous clones are now about 6 inches tall and are showing vigorous growth. Stacking up on 2 liters for this SOG style grow. Next will be a scrog, once i clone some sativas.

F**K!!!! Bagseed 1 is going to be chopped tonight! She hermied on me...guess that what you get with unknown genetics...not stable I suppose...however it could be due to light leaks maybe? but I've heard that light leaks VERY VERY rarely cause hermies. All other plants look good after inspecting literally every bud on each...I'll post pics of the hermie in action later...have somewhere to be. Good news is...I'll have some herb to smoke...

White Widow is a female. It's the slowest growing plant I've ever seen to be honest, but we'll see how it moves once it's in flower. I didn't even bother trying to clone because I could never get a branch long enough to cut...but now it's about 6" I suppose. Very Very Indica...short fat leaves...at least she's female. I'm going to crack my next white widow now since I have one in flower.

Here is a nugget shot of Bag Seed 1...Not bad for a hermie!!!




Pulled 4 of my clones and threw them in 2 liters today and then chucked them in the flower cab....here's the pre-2 liter picture for 2 of them anyhow...That's the white widow in the back.




Sativa Diva and Durban Poison I had going were both chopped today, you can see their pictures here...They were Dudes!!! Good genetics in the package though apparently....





Here's that white widow...I trimmed off those lower 2 branches, so now it's just the top 4...should flower nicely.




Popped another Indoor Mix. Growing great...No pics yet. Stretched a little, but I'm off to get better lights for Veg cab..maybe a 70 W MH???
