I have never used it, but a friend wants me to sign up....says its an "ego boost" (I sure dont need one of those tho).

anyway I looked at the site and it looks pretty boring.

can you guys that know more about "myspace" give me some positives and negatives about it....whats the big deal w/ it....is there something I'm missing from my quick overview of the site?

-yukon

I know I'll get un-biased opinions from u guys

None for me thanks...

None for me thanks...

For me myspace was like a video game when I was a little kid, I got really into at first and was completely engrossed by it... But it quickly got old and boring, it also detrimentally affected my relationship (although that was an entirely different matter).

Bottom line, if you like forums you'll most likely dig myspace. You'll run into people you haven't seen or talked to in years, which is kind of cool and you will most likely spend hours making a website that basically describes you, which if you are single and want to meet people around your area, it is a great medium to do just that. All in all my experience with myspace was ok, but not really something to write home about.

Also if you record music don’t be tempted to put your stuff up for all to hear. I thought it was a great thing at first and in a lot of ways it was but myspace was recently purchased by the Fox news corporation and the new terms of agreement dictate that FNC owns the rights to any song you put up on myspace and can use it without paying royalties for whatever they want. So… if you don’t want to hear your song playing in the background of the O'reilly Factor or some shit, I would resist that temptation altogether.

The boredom combined with the fact that all the music that was on my personal music page could be used by fox at their whim kind of burned me out on the whole thing.

I'd give it a try though just to see if you like it, if not you can always delete it or just not go back.

Peace,
E.

I have an account and have some family members, close friends and bands as my top 24..I have met just about everyone on my friends list.

It can help you keep in touch with friends and family..so in that way it's good..you can have just about any layout you want..I have a Pink Floyd layout and it's tight..

but you get a lot of ppl just trying to add friends...so I always delete their friend requests.

but it's okay for some people...

sometimes I think it's gonna turn into a big data base for info for the gov. but for now it's okay.

Yea the law does monitor those sites to a certain extent, so I would definitely watch what you say and post in terms of pictures and personal info.

There was that one kid who got nailed at school cause of some crap he said on his site, but I think that was just an incident of pure stupidity.

I also think Tom is the Antichrist... lol

Pretty easy..I was the same way when I first got started..Everything is html codes..You click edit profile next to your picture and it has boxes for example..''Headline'' ''About me'' ''interests'' ''music'' etc etc..You then search the web for myspace layouts to pic a background for your page..They will provide a code you copy and paste into your ''about me'' section..Same goes for your contact tables, graphics, animations, which can be found on the same pages you found your layouts.(All have codes provided so you can copy and paste)..Then you just click add/edit photos and upload your pic or other pictures just like you would on here..For music..At the top of your myspace page you will see options like groups, home, music etc.. Click music and type in keyword any band or artist you are searching for..click that artist once the search results are shown..they have a playlist box on their page..next to the song you will see download, add..click add and that song will be added to your page..They also have many different genres of music categories you can browse through and search for music...peace

Hey yukon whats goin on man. I gotta say myspace is good....if you wanna pick up some 14 year old girls lol jk.

But seriously I think it is a good thing. I like it as a rider cuz I can contact people from all over the world that I've met or know. I bet you can probably relate to this. Its cool for that and looking at hot girls...sometimes even finding new music.

I waste way too much time on there though.

Lax ...its not what it seems bro..

I was just asking about it ...not saying that I am about it.

I only recently heard about that site, and I've learned that its been all the rage for a couple years....thats how out of touch I am.

just trying to see what the big deal is, and see if its anything I'm missing out on....thats all.
