my wonderful Soma plant

this is a soma plant that is around 3 years old . it has been through flowering ,and back to veg so many times it is unreal. so it is time to say good bye to the mother . it has produced many of fruit. and the children of this fine mom will live forever in my grow room . i started to grow this plant few years back and pretty much grew it the standard way . the usual straight stalk. after flowering it ,i had to break the stalk to save space. i had grew it to big the first time. so this is how i grew her on her last journey . i will start with the stalk. most of us usualy bend the stalk or break the kurd to form a knuckle . i have done this a few times on plants that didn,t matter so i tried it on a plant i like once and it killed it. lol. so i thought how i could do it without hurting the plant. so here is my way. i take some plastic . about a peice the size of a cigarette pack , and wrap it tightly around the stalk . then i bend the plant over where ever i want it . in half if i want to . the plastic takes the stress. so this way the stalk WILL NEVER snap.then i let the knuckle swell and heal .as this is going on .i start taking clones from the back side of the plant.because she is so tall i will have to lay the plant on it's side to flower it out.so here it is now im at 31 days in these pics and plan to harvest on dec 23 or 25 . this year

well friendlyfriend . this is a typical indica dominate plant so she is going to take around 47 to 58 days if grow by standard rules.i have taken clones at different times to see how strong or weak it may be through different times. i found that the plant is very good at 39 days and on .and to talk about smell!!!! well she really smells when she is touched . or rubbed . and when it is dark . weird huh?, after you bump or rub it it smells of a very pinesol type peppery skunk . sweet but sour. lol.everything is good about this plant.i will give it a 8 overall.i really should give it a 9 but trying to be moddest.lol

ty sir for the compliment. it is a soma rock bud i really love this plant.i have some new pics i took today it is at day 35 . don't know how much im going to get off the soma plant .but i'll let ya know
here are some red leaves .it started turning around day 28 30 . and looks nice with the red leaves . i also have to tie the buds up .these are some heavy buds

hey buddy. i had this plant in a 6 gallon container and it got way to tall so then i had to lay the plant on it's side .so it is now in two trash bags .one is got holes cut in it so it can breath.the other is a solid bag with no holes.thats so i can water it. but thanks for stoping by

nice looking mother-- I'm also about to put a long time mother into flower. She's a huge bagseed that has produced many a clone, but I don't have room for her in the "gene-pool" anymore.. moving on to danker and better things

I have a monster in my flowering at the mo, she is Hindu kush X Skunk#1, was my mother plant, but got too huge, so im flowering her, OMG, she has 5 main colas on top, another 6 lower , tied doewn and fox tailing a bit, and loads of smaller middle growth like a hedge of buds, lol, Im gonna have to get some yo-yo's, coz the big colas are starting to get really fat and sag, dont want any breakages.shes still got a while to go yet,Going by the seed pack, she should be done around 2nd January so i can see her getting even heavier yet, 11 weeks, its a long time, but worth it, and ive got other stuff coming down sooner.

it is fun growing a massive plant, but hard work keeping em in check.

ty.for stopping by it is sad but good when ya got to put the mother into the flower room. sad because you put alot of work in her .and faith in yourself beliving in ourself and this plant,and knowing it will soon be over in a few short months ,but glad to see the weight you always wondered she would bring, and the so wanted fruit from her.and telling yourself .well honey we went through some times and i was proud of you ,,oh so proud .and my giving girl .you will live on through the children we have raised together.(shit i keep on im gonna cry lol).(hell it's only a plant i tell myself,but it lived ,and it grew.and that is life and now i choose to take it .it is sad ,but she will live on.
sounds like self greed to me .

3 years? Man, she must be a hard one to put down after giving so much. And to think all she asked in return was a little food, water and light. :smile: And nothing yields like them old motha's!

wow! the trunk and vegatation on that motha make it look like a redwood! lol. very impressive. i know it's gonna be hard to take her down but its just her time. have a smoke out in memory of her.
