Nah, the title and location are fine - I'm not a moderator...so I have no say over any of that.

I like knowing when or if people are growing out my gear - that way I can be a mouse click away in case any questions surface or any advice is needed for any reason.

I'm just super glad to see someone else growing these seeds out. Some truly great plants to be found!

Back with an update and some more photos. This will be my last update post on this thread for another week. Yeah, I'm excited about my first grow...but weekly updates should be sufficient from this point on. I opened my tent today and was pleasantly surprised by a faint but very familiar odor.

First up, my bag seed baby. I have decided to name this plant Mystery Meat for the rest of its growing phase. Once harvested, dried, and cured, I will give it a more fitting name based on its appearance, aroma, flavor, and medicinal effects. Until then, MYSTERY MEAT it is!

This little thing is just blowing up right now!

Just look at all of the new growth.

Now, onto the BKGK BX1 babies. I will call these BKGK 1, BKGK 2, and BKGK 3.

BKGK 1 appears to be the healthiest and happiest of the lot.

BKGK 2

BKGK 3 wtf?

I know that some fuggly looking seedlings are known to develop into incredible plants, but I am concerned for BKGK 2 and 3. Please let me know what you folks think. Any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, ICF peeps!

The problem is not water then. You clearly have it under control. Good job!

For some reason(s) they are not growing, like they dont have 'energy', maybe the seeds were old or wrong kept. Also, if you put the seeds to germinate in a moist paper towel, the micro-roots can get damaged when pulled away from the paper towel, leaving opportunity for infections and stunting.

if they don't start growing normally by their 4th node develops, I'd trash them. You can try a light feeding, to see if nuts is what they craving.

Just looks burnt / overfed as a seedling...give it time to grow out of it.

Dank.frank could be right. I think he is. (Haven't seen you already fed them before posting my first reply. Sorry for this.)

Bad news. The light I ordered was damaged, so I'm sending it back. More bad news. We just got news that a member of my family is going to be living with us for the next several months, making the grow impossible. I just cant have that amount of noise coming from a tiny closet in our tiny house. The noise is audible from our living room. One of the pitfalls of living in a 1000 square foot house.

The BKGK babies just never got off on the right foot, so I scrapped them :(

Mystery Meat is still going strong and seems to just love everything that I do for it. I am going to order a 2 foot, 8 bulb, T5 light to try to take this plant through completion. I plan on keeping it small. I just don't want to give up on this one. With the T5 fixture I can grow this small, single plant without having to have an exhaust fan or a noisy digital ballast. At least, that is the plan.

Also. This plant is very short. The tallest of the BKGK seedlings was taller than this plant, and they were one week behind this one. Could this be an Indica or Indica dominant strain?

Sorry to hear you scrapped them...missed out on some great genes. That aside, the BKGK Bx1 - was pretty broad leaf in all general senses, but they did grow with some great vigor for being a line that is primarily built on bubba and blueberry. You can see the male used - he certainly wasn't "sativa leaning" ... hahaha!!!

Good luck with the mystery meat.

Thanks, dank.frank. I still have some of the BKGK x BX1 seeds. I'll hold on to them until I'm more experienced, time and space provided, then give them another go.

The Mystery Meat plant turned three weeks old last Friday.

I topped it at the sixth node. Would have topped sooner, but it is a very short plant.

This little plant sure is wanting to get bushy. Is this growth good, or will I eventually prune this when I scrog the plant?

Here is a size reference photo.

I gave it its first feeding today using the General Organics line of nutes. I will update again in about a week, provided it like the food and things go well. Any input would be appreciated. Pretty sure its a straight indica or at least indica dominant. When I touch the plant and smell my fingers I get a mix of skunk and coffee.

Sorry to keep bumping my own thread, but I have questions. Since I only have this one "Mystery Meat" plant going right now, I don't want to waste any more time than I have to with it. I want to sex it as early as possible so that if it is a male, I can start germinating seeds again ASAP.

I have two photos to show you that have me perplexed. It looks like a fem in one photo and like a male in the other. I know, I know, I will have my answer in a few days if I just wait it out...but like I said, I want to get started on something else ASAP if this plant is going to go full blown brah on me. I would love to hear from you guys with more experience and knowledge. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

This looks like lady to my untrained eye.

This shot of the other side of the same node looks like a tool to my untrained eye.

Thanks again for taking a look. I look forward to your feedback.

Hard to say 100% but that looks like the start of a couple balls. Might have yourself a male there....should be able to tell 100% in another 3-5 days.

I'm making that assumption on the rounded point...kinda like a pine cone shape in the second picture, left side. An early calyx from which a white pistil will emerge during early sexing tends to be a bit more triangular...

I'd still give a few more days before making any final decisions.

I appreciate you being so frank with me, Frank. I'll just have to give it a few more days and pray for the best...but I'm pretty sure that you are right. Damn shame though. The odor from this plant is pungent, to say the least. I've smelled enough growing plants to know what dank smells like, and this plant is stanky dank. :(
