Howdy. Total noob here. I just wanted a place where I could post about my first grow and get some feedback from you guys and gals along the way.
I started with some very old Moscas C 99 seeds that never popped. I guess they were to old. I had included a bag seed that I got from a friend, and it popped. So, with only one viable seed, I started germinating five BKGK seeds. Out of the five, three popped after just 24 hours in the damp paper towel. I planted the two that had not popped along with three that had. Only the three seeds that that had popped ended up breaking dirt.
Growing in Fox Farms Bush Doctor Coco Loco. Water PH 6.0 - 6.5. I achieved this PH level by mixing 1/4 gallon tap water with 3/4 gallon RO water.
So, I've got one bag seed and three BKGK babies. This makes the bag seed one week older than the BKGK babies.
I bought a cheap fluoro at the hardware store and these babies seem to be loving it. I have a tiny tent (36 x 20 x 63) that stays at a steady 50% - 60% humidity. Temps are steady between 75 and 80 Fahrenheit. Small 6" fan is circulating the air. I built a home made light baffle out of cardboard boxes that is working very well. Its nice to keep my closet door open at night and not be bothered by light coming from my closet.
I have a 4" Ventech inline exhaust fan (rated at 190cfm) in the attic, a straight shot up from the top of the tent. No bends. Insulated ducting.
As of now, I only have a 150watt HPS fixture to put them under when they come out of the seedling stage. I know that this is "do-able", but not idea. I hope I get lucky and can afford to buy the 400 watt dim-able ballast kit that I'm looking at. Its a cool tube light with a switchable ballast, comes with bulbs for veg and flower. Being on disability can certainly have its financial draw-backs.
Anyhow, The bag seed was planted exactly one week ago today. How does it look for a 7 day old? I would really appreciate your feedback.
