Wooohooo!! Sound the alarm, this is the time we have been building towards for big beautiful buds to start forming...

Transition has started but nothing is in definite flower as off yet, these pictures are form august 1st and 2nd.

Going to give the ladies a transition seed sprout tea and beneficial tea.

Cant wait to start seeing tuffs of hair on these, a few lowers of each are going to get dusted with some pollen in the future, just haven't decided on who's partnering up with who.

Bit of a photo dump!!

The ladies are doing great no mold or bug issues, worm activity is amazing in the beds!

All 4 have done their stretch, the blueberry is in early flower and the snowberry blue only a few days behind. The other 2 are being stubborn.

No more food for the soil till Sept 1st for the last fed with flower additives, and no more sprays after this weekend....

All in all just have to keep the nosey neighbor's the fuck out of my yard for the rest of the season and all will be good!!

I love that every household has the 4 limit, 6 like california would be a little better tho!!!

My neighbor has his 4 in 5 Gal buckets, he moves them around the yard and into his garage every night so they don't grow legs and walk away on him, Its nice to see that as well.

That's pretty dope that your neighbour grows too! My neighbours are forcing me to chop my plants until I can get the odour under control haha. Well cheers man, you got an awesome thing going.

Can't wait to see more.

Looks good Lizard, did you get rid of the ants? Im not sure if you were the one that had them... I had some in a fabric pot, Cinnamon seemed to do the trick for me

Ya i did deal with the ants it was a good battle. They were a pain in the ass, but found out they were trying to farm aphids up in the canopy.

I got rid of the aphids, and used several different things by the end and now ants have disappeared!

Well not going to say much just a small update with pictures, weather has changed from no rain and super hot to a ton of rain and mid 20's for day time temperature

2 strains are in flower the blueberry and the snowberry blue are, with the black dog and GG#4 just starting. I think with the super hot and sunny days this year has made the start of flower be delayed by a few days.

Pretty much on cruz control at this point.

Just a curious question if anyone can chime in, so around 9pm (my time) last night i decided to lay down some pollen on my 2 plants that are in about 3rd week of flower. By midnight a random 30 min rain had hit and then when i came to see the plants before work at 530am there was a heavy due, needless to say plants were soaked...

I've done a fair amount of selective breeding and am okay with all the techniques and such. My question is how long does the pollen take after hitting the stigma (pistil) before its either A) hit the ovarie or B) germinated enough to start the process where water wouldn't fuck up the process.

I was reading this morning some articles say 2-3 mins some 2-3 hours and some even longer like 12 hours plus.... What's everyone's consensus?

I don't want to have to lay more pollen down if i don't have to so i can use it on other plants

Hey LizardMan,
sorry l can’t help on the pollen question but l just wanted to chime in and tell you how much l am enjoying your thread, particularly now you’re at the business end.
I’m really happy to see you growing the “Black Dog”, l, personally can’t believe there’s not many more fans of this plant posting all over the net. They’re the best all rounder I’ve come across, at my location and the only plant that’s never let me down, across different microclimates, even in the harshest of years.
And the categories I’m judging it on are everything, in terms of pm/disease/pest/early and late cold resistance, yields, low maintenance/water needs, low smells, low feeding needs, structure, consistency in phenos, vigour etc, etc and of course over all bag appeal and top end product of high medicinal value. Jessie needs a big pat on the back for this one.
I’m really looking forward to some closeups, if you think that’s appropriate and you’ve got the time, so l can drool at the major resin development; I’m predicting you might even have a shot for the frostiest bud category coming up.
Keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all works out for you.
Cheers,
40.

I've already been hitting night temps of 4'c-5'c and the black dig has just started to flower, lucky shes quick but still might need to pop up a plastic cover lol.... Bright side the cold will bring out those beauty colors easily

The Snowberry blue im running right now has to be the THICKEST plant I've ever grown. It hasnt rained for 2 days and the inside is still wet, no possible air flow through it.... From top and sides doesn't look like many bud sites but after some clipped leafs it reveals its stacked, has a strong Flintstone kids multivitamin smell at the moment

Well the weather has gone from hi 30's and no rain for 2 months, to the start of flower and so far it been a month of rain. I cant complain its bringing life back around and a cooler temperature.

All 4 of the girls are into flower and getting individual smells...sooo stinky!!!

Not much to really say its pretty much on cruze control... Used a little wood ash and a mung bean tea. And have LIGHTLY pollinated a few branches on 2 of the 4 ladies as up to this point

Nice being in town but can sit on the back deck and block everyone out, wife doesn't smoke but likes the privacy hedge haha.

With the ants earlier they were aiding in a small aphid issue which now are both delt with. The beauty is it brought in lady bugs and they now love making babies in the plants, And im totally okay with that!

I would say, get building that cover. 32 degrees this morning here near Burk’s Falls. Frost on the grass & fog on the lake. I Put a rain shield on my plants 4 weeks ago. I am away from them for a week & I hope that they survive my neighbour’s care while we take our covid holiday.

Good luck with your monsters ! :plant grow:

Well i could say i was caught with my pants down but then again this isnt the first or even second frost we have had... But the worst to date and only gonna get worse.

So i traded some hash for a 12 wide x 24 long x 12 high car port. I thought would slide over the ladies and be able yo cover with some 6 mil poly at nights.... Well im in a good problem, they are to big and im not a fan of having plastic touch the flowers...

Fuck sakes now im thinking about strapping 2x2's to the legs of the car port and then make like a ridge pole to get up about the top flowers.... Errr trying new strains and every year ya never know if they finish or if the weather will corporate

Well heres a few pics to show whats up...

Ps they are okay just a few dead pistils at the top.
