well ....you have several options....but unfortunately I cant give you a proffessional opinion on this problem your having because I dont have enough
experiance with hydro Im actually a soil grower ..lol.
But if the mom with brown roots is growing slowly in comparison...to the babys..you might consider just freeing up some room for the younger plants to fill out.Or a good flushing never hurts,if you want to try to save the mom.Then redo solution.Dont know..ask pico..LOL
But why do you care if she makes a good impresion on her babys? lol
