my soon to be first cab grow

hey guys ive been reading here since i started my first grow about 3 months ago.... i learned ALOT this first time around.... now the only female plant to make it through my first grow will probibly get the chop in a week or two... ive proven very good at making clones and have a few of the female.... also i allowed a few seeds to get fertilized with pollen from the best male plant i had

A little backround on genetics... this is all grown from random somewhat old bag seed... i name my plants after ex girlfriends.... caroline is the current female her seeds will be caroline x jessica... ive also gotten 3 more seeds in since then (dont worry theres always plenty of names... the woman they come they go but the mary jane... she stays )

A little about the cabinet... its a fed-ex cargo box from my work... alot of work has been done since the last set of pics... it has double doors now with a pad lock all white inside and out with black rubberized under coatting where the pots will sit... its about 4'H x 36''W x 24''D... it has 6 CFLs for the top in 3 rows of 2 (4 will be daylight 27w 1800 lumens each.. 2 will be soft white 42w 2660 lumens each) on the side walls 4 flouro tube grownlights @ 7w @ 750 lumens each all will be controlled by Brinks digital timers with battery back-ups. There is also a 70 cfpm exaust fan now built into it exuasting straight outside drawing air over the plants over the lights and out the window. The CFLS will be seperated from the plants by a sheet of plexi glass the GL flouros will have their plastic defusers on to prevent burning... and now time for mad pics....

shots from the 'current' grow... will post new picks of flowers and such today if i can find my digital camera..... found it my friend has it... a lil about the set up using MG soil using 4 7w growlight flour tubes and 1 reg soft white 7W as the main light and 4 more 7w growlights on 3 sides.... its a closet grow with the clones going on a shelf(proved to give a light leak now fixed no herms but slowed it down good) heat has proven a concern too in the jersey heat but not a problem yet... new cab should fix that as my place has AC but i cant as of yet pull air from outside the closet in because it must remain closed 80% of the time again only caroline is flowering but shes doin good now is about 4 feet tall in a 5 gallon bucket and about 2 1/2 feet wide

Welcome to ICMAG, good luck with your grow. I would be careful with the plant food spikes though, I don't think I would ever be able to use them.

well ive used the spikes on the current grow... dunno if it did too much but i saw no negative effects.... also used the liquid ferts from mircale grow at a very diluted level

recut the 3 clones into 5 and planted another random seed i came across when these clones root and grow one or two nodes i will cut the current plant down and plant these into 2 ten gallon rubber made buckets heres some pics of the little cuties any input would be appreciated but ive never lost a clone yet so i might be doin it right

Hey man, looks like things are moving along here. I am surprised you are getting height like that from those cfls. Have you ever thought of getting a HID lamp?

Your clones look fine, looks like they are fairly healthy. I was going to tell you to chop some of the tips of the leaves off, but it looks like you have already done that.

Are you sure you have the macro setting on when you took those pics? No offence intended here at all my friend, just want to see nice pics.

hey glad to see you back yea this is the first time i tried to leaf cutting thing theyre better off then my past clones... just drooping a little now on day 3... yea im sure the macro setting is on infact the name of the mode is flower mode lol my camera is a kodak v550 is more about size and super high shutter speed then optics... ive thought about getting a HID but ive already got all the cfl stuff so i figured id go with that. The final light count for the cab is 4 daylight 26 watts 2 soft white 42 watt and 4 17 watt of those flouro 2' grow lights thats a total of 256 watts so im thinking ill have enough light across a big enough spectum

That should be enough lights, but the issue is how strong the intensity is getting into the heart of the plants, I did the cfl thing for a while, and I actually had someone give me a MH and I have not been back since, I use the small cfls, for early vegging

yea i tried to think around that heart of the plant problem but ill be placing the 2' flouro tubes on the side walls to help fill that negative space hoping that does it pretty good... no real news to report carolines filling out more but its lights out in there.... shes still coming down early... i wana get this grow box goin and tested before the clones grow much and im only doing a short veg too so i wantem young anyway... clones are drooped but only a little more than yesterday color is holding good though... new random seed has yet to germ but i swear the soil has moved up in the little hole it is in (as holes is no longer visible its just flat)... anyway we'll see... im babbling but im baked sorry

hey back for a real update today (had some time today before the lights went out so i spent it with caroline ) shes doing alright... the clones have dropped a little more and discolored just a little im not concerned... the new bean popped today thats always good guess im hoping for a female although a male wouldnt ruin my life with 5 other females i would just make do and make more seeds with the new genes ... on that note i took about 20 of the approx 35 seeds on caroline they we pretty loose and mostly fell off with a small push they look good got that good tiger stripe going on... anyway i know what your all here for

hey quick update clones are probibly about to start growing again... the new bean is doing well.. the cab is totally done along with the vent setup and loover for the window thing.... pictures come soon caroline will come down friday due to the clones takin their time... a week longer again but whatever more buds at this point... starting friday night to sunday eve. i will be testing the new cab... mostly just to make sure the temps are good well signin off for now maybe ill brings pics tomorrow

real quick update again tomorrow is harvest day its early still i know but i wana get the new plants in there already! speaking of who the clones have springed back up and stopped all discoloring havnt started any new growth yet though (today is the 2 week mark) but its getting close to 88-89 during the day in there at about 60-70% humidy (thats only for about 9 hours during the day) the rest of the time its not above 80 and 60%... any ideas if thats affecting the clones?... anyway picks of the cab will come tomorrow its in my shed currently and just hard to take pics of it in there.... pics of caroline i took yesterday though

Nice thread you got going on here bro. I love the CFL's too they work great! i do my vegging with them and theres never a worry about heat or burning your plants. It takes longer for plants to (get ripe) or (finish) with those though. Do you check your trics with a optical lens at all?? it looks like those ladies could go for a bit longer to get that stoned up blaze were all after. Just my opinion bro everything looks good were im sitting. Grow on!!!
PS drooping clones could be a bit of overwatering???

heres those pics i promised had un expected lady company last night... anyway cab is in and heat testing i have pics from the chop and the cleaning just not the cab yet cuz the doors are closed and the door is closed to the closet its in... with the door to the closet open its was like 85.5 in there so im gunna put in 2 120 mm computer fans for intake today or tomorrow
