First time poster here. I started reading your thread over at OG. It inspired to make the leap that I've always longed to do. And that is to grow the best with the best in the privacy of my home. I've always grown outdoors, I have a nice breed thats ready early and stones ya silly, I call the lovely darlins 'TripleT'. Heavy Indica, leaf structure is similar to Hash Plant, but with big huge pregnant to say the least leaves. A lil toke and its a nice day buzz, a lil more an you'll get a great night of sleep. I'm going to see how they grow DWC style! I just went on a 2250 km drive to get some lovely darlings called Pot of Gold, Super Silver Haze, Ak-47 and Hash Plant.
I posted a fix to a slight problem with the system before og went down.
I have a question it appears you may have made the same mistake and this will need corrected before it causes problems.
Is your air line and feed line atleast 3" above the overflow?Because water will rise about 2-3" above the level of the overflow,Before it actually works. So if them air lines and feed lines are not in grommets they will leak once the return clogs and it kicks into the overflow. So if they are not atleast 3" above the overflow,Then either insert them into grommets or just buy some liquid nail and seal around the holes that the 1/4" lines run into.
Other than that the system looks great should perform very well.
Im going to buy all black buckets and shit after this grow is complete and rebuilding my systems. When i do this i plan to make a new tutorial so others can can build it i know that thread would have been very helful to others.Either way thanks for posting tem pics shows me someone was able to use that tutorial..
Wow, what can I say? Top Shelf all of the way! Beautifully thought out, executed, and put to work too. And the results speak for themselves. If my system ever grew up, this is how I would want it to be.
BOU
I was lookin for your thread and I was like WTF mate, what happened? Then I saw it up on the podium, Whoooooooeeeeeeeee, BOU got himself a stickyicky! Well deserved at that I might add. How long are you looking to let these wild ass girls run loose? Keep up the good work.
TripleT Good work on your system, enjoy the rewards.
beautiful plants mate....,
just wanted to mention what you were just saying about the drain and overflow lines...... if you used an overflow that is twice the size of the inlet then the level should bever go above the overflow.... I Modified my Aquafarms to recirculate from a res, i usd the existing 16mm inlet hole and added a 32mm plumbing elbow from an overflow system at the desired level ..... worked a treat and never overflowed once........
those plants really do look gorgeous mate.....
yeah that sounds like a good idea too harry: hope ur keepin up mate.
what's up blz! haven't been around for a bit, so i hope alls well with ya. ur plants are lookin shweet broham and personally i'm more of a coke guy but i guess i'll let it slide due to the beauty of the greenery behind it. lookin solid man. keep it up.
Yeah good show but not what i wanted couple mistakes i have made and shit is not up to expectations.
Just got back up from checking babies last night done the nutrient change and looking at plants why taken the update pics the celtic frost was showing some yellowing like it was deff,As well as the bmr well after opening the lid of the system to drain/refill res looked really nasty and cloudy/murky im like WTF my shit always see through clean color clear looking nutrient mix.
So now i am on the look out like man whats up check the water temps chiller working fine solution temps reading 68f so not a problem,Start checking around open up a couple buckets that dont have nay plants in it,Airstones are dead not pumping air im like wtf pumps go out start looking around chekcing things find that i unplugged the air pumps on accident when unpluging dehumidifier somehow and must have been off 6-12 days since last inspection,So i do what i know needs done drain system fill with fresh tap water run clearex through it for 2hrs then drain again,Refill with plain tap drain again to clean system,Everyhting looks pretty clean fill it back up with fresh nutrient mix for the week as usuall.Go down today water nutrients nice and clear as normal airstones bubbling like they should check on the roots and have some root rot showing in the celtic frost, and the bmr.Now i have to go drain system again tonight run fresh ro water through it and hydrogen peroxide then drain again cut away any roots showing rot,And fill with new nutrient batch.
This is good example of why this inspection shit sucks.I will win this battle plants will thrive no matter what but man its depressing,Just to know they was stressed waiting for the ro system to finish filling the res then i will drain run hydrogen peroxide through it and cut away any spots showing signs of rot...
blaze that is not what i was expecting to hear..... i wish you the best of luck ...
just a couple for ya!
i remembered when you built those boxes for your air pumps for fresh air and it made me think! * would having a different air pump in your res help keep up the oxygen levels in the water, even if the buckets air is out of order? might save you from more headaches like this... but i'm just brainstorming ... i hate it when shit like this happenes
Well after further cleaning and ect,It was found to not be root rot just nutrient build up making the roots look darker i got the pumps back on and sprayed off all the roots really good with water bottle and everything is nice and clean and no root rot it was just muck from the nutrients,Anyways everything is sound again plants will pull through and finish as expected lol.
Thats definately a good thing to hear. I think I have gotten that build up on my plants. I dunno if it's rot or not. I flushed it and it went away, and now it's slightly back. I'm keeping a close I on it.
Fiack me, I hate it when i do that..........I would have thought that since its recirculating that the other stones would have put enough O2 into the water to limp em along?? Hey, props to you for catching it stoner!!!!
Well thing is both my air pumps are plugged into the same extension cord so there was no air pumps pumping oxygen to the roots. If the water would not a have murked up would not have caught it...
Ok went down took some update pics and some root shots. They have taken this pretty well system is clean pumps are on and plants will thrive through this.
Oh well could be much worse least i caught it before it did the real damage
