My new PC-sized growbox

Cheers for that explanation. So I guess it took a bit of trial and error to get the filter depth and area too then. How often do you end up changing the carbon in your setup?

I'm still running the first installation of this current design. It stinks like flowering plants inside and nothing outside yet. Been about 2 months so far. I hope to get 2 flower cycles out of it before a change, or 6 months.

I like it because it is simple and doesn't take an hour to assembly/install. Not blowing terribly hard through it is also important. PC Fans won't push the air too hard which would cause the smells to not be filtered. As long as there isn't a ton of heat to exhaust, these work great. The faster you try to push air through it to cool better, it will be less effective. The air will not be scrubbed as it flies passed the carbon too quickly.

One of the reasons I went LED in my PC case, its easy to cool.

so is 33 degrees c too hot for plant level? my plants don't seem to mind too much, but i'm sure it can't be helping. sigh. off to get a new fan tomorrow or tuesday. hopefully my plants won't be raped by pests by then.

Looking good man. I am so far also enjoying LST. It's a great technique, but its also fun to shape a plant, almost like a high speed bonzai.

My lady has a very similar branching layout. It looks like you have a bare spot in the middle aswell. This is super helpful. I, like you have a short grow space. My most vigorous branch hit the box top the other day, so I just tied a bit of twine between it and the branch across from it, pulling the tall branch down a few much needed inches, and towards the middle. I later added a tie to the branch across, as the more vigorous branch was winning the tug of war.

I like that bracket you have coming off the pot. Looks like it makes the tying down a lot more clutter free as the plant grows away from the container, as opposed to tons of ties coming back to the pot.

Nice setup over all. Oh! Another quick suggestion, next plant you go with, cause no doubt this is gonna go well! If you grow the same plant shape, bend it so that one of the side branches is pointing directly up after the tie. That way you can train it to grow in the opposite direction and get another branch under that light right over top of the container. Might maximize your lighting even further. Of course a Scrog could do much the same with the wide canopy.

Thanks for the kind words dude. The bracket is actually just half a coat hanger. I normally train above the pots, then outward, but this time I've not been very efficient with the lst. hopefully the plant keeps stretching so I can take advantage of the middle of the canopy a bit more.

I really love how this plant grows, it's very branchy, and the stems remain flexible still, I think this is week 3 or 4 of 12-12. I've never grown another like it.

Today, I opened up the back to allow proper airflow (as the fans were way too weak to push through my filter). Temperatures are at a very reasonable 2-3 degrees above ambient now.

I also added in a 4th bulb, a 23w daylight spectrum (the rest were warm white), so the plants have 92w in total. I also put a reflector directly on top of the bulbs, to maximise light going downwards and not into the ceiling. It is hella bright now!

Here's some pictures, I was playing around with the depth of field for fun :)

Just a couple of pics to update for today. Everything is going all good. Trimming extra fan leaves seems to make this plant quite happy, and gives lower buds a hell of a lot more light. Right now I'm just concentrating on getting the tops as close to lights as I possibly can.

Anyways, pics! enjoy
