My New Obsession...Chinese Buffets

A couple months ago, I was out with a friend. We were both ripped and extremely hungry and she suggested we stop at a buffet. I've always tried to steer clear of them but caved in that day.

I'm a certified Seafood fanatic! I've lived on about every coast in Florida for 20+ years and would die happy if I ate nothing but seafood every day of my life. Anyway, I go in and they had a big pan of boiled Shrimp and another full of fried Shrimp, along with fake Scallops, Crab, Crawfish and 10 other types of Seafood. Not only did I eat 5-8lbs of Shrimp but I only had to pay $6.55 to do so.

I've gone back about 3x a week since. I've brought all my friends and now they're hooked. I'm starting to feel King-like and have been having thoughts of dressing as such every time I go from now on. It's all fresh, well-cooked food and the Seafood is just the beginning of the menu. They have a Sushi bar, will make stuff on request if it's not out and the service is incredible...All this for $6.55 per lunch/$9.85 for Dinner. I just came back from there and ate $5+lbs of Shrimp again and am amazed at their pricing. I'm at the point of almost expecting to be barred from there I eat so much.

This is one of the greatest things that's happened in my life!

I once went to a china buffet with an epic case of the munchies and no shame. They eventually put ghb or something in my drink refill to get us out of there. Between that and the itis I thought I would die on my friend's couch.

Glad you found a good one thaicat. When I think back to my time in florida the abundant seafood always shines in my memories. Especially since I'm in the midwest now.

Enjoy yourself, but don't push things too far lest you find yourself on the wrong side of some ancient chinese gluttony punishment like I did.

Yeah, the seafood is one of very few good things about Florida. Lol, I'll have to bring my own tea next time. The Waitresses here just bring me the bill and give me a stern look after 3-4 plates.

My record is fourteen eggrolls.

Cannabis isn't a good accomplice for a Chinese buffet.

I'm not sure but they may be extreme Lobbyist to keep weed illegal. I'm sure buffets are dropping like flies in Washington and Colorado!

Funny thing about the Eggrolls. I took a buddy last week. This guy has done a lot of time. We ate like horses and in the end, he whips out some napkins, rolls up 5-6 eggrolls and stuffed them in his pants to take home. It's been a long time since I've been locked up but it immediately brought back thoughts of everyone wrapping food, stuffing down their pants and bringing it back to the block.

Buffets around here - no good. Bad case of ED (figure it out), before I finally quit taking my chances.

Ate at a buffet in Florida and it was the shit. Ate King Crab legs for hours.... only the big part of the leg.. Didn't even bother with that other small section like would have to do back home.

Gotta lay down after attending a good buffet.

Went to a buffet and vegas and it sucked royally. The crab legs were small & cold? Is that common? Guess thats what you get in the middle of the desert. Wasnt impressed at all.

had the Chinese buffet in Bemidji a few days ago, it's awesome because they moved here from NYC & so it's the style Cantonese I'd been used to but missing for so many years.

In Washington they have Casinos run by native Americans and they all seem to have pretty good buffets. Personally, I also steer away from your typical Chinese buffets. Anyway, this one casino gives everyone a comp that stays in the casino for 2 hours (I redeemed mine after an hour and a half or so. Apparently they are not sticklers for the time). I took a date to the Emerald Queen Casino and we each got a free dinner at the buffet (You could opt for the restaurant if you want, and the comp is for $25. The food was awesome... Prime rib, cold shrimp, fried shrimp, dungeness crab, stone crab, awesome salads that you make yourself, and all these fancy deserts.... I thought I was going to burst. I want to do this about once a month now.

The girl didn't make me feel like I was cheap because I put money in a slot machine for her and she won a little. She was happy she won and happy for a nice dinner :)
