If you still have the innards from the fridge you could hook it up in line and vent new air when you need it.
Get a new thermostat from your local electrical supply store and wire the f'er up inside the fridge (right below the top of the colas?). You could use a home thermo , one that is suited for the 60-90F range, then reverse the polarity so it turns on when its hot and off when its cool.
