I cant tell ya how many times I mistook nute burn for a lack of nutes. They both 'burn' leaves up... in your case this is a classic example of lack of nutes, or nute lock out.

Based on what you've posted your pH is dead on, lights/temps/etc all dead on.... My bet is that you are NOT feeding them enough.

Someone told ya they're light feeders? Uhhh...ok... but yours are hungry. Showing all the classic signs of it. I run 1400ppm throughout my grows and have no need for additives, etc.

Bottom line, if I walked in my grow room and my plants looked like yours I would
DUMP THE REZ
REFILL WITH TAP WATER
SHAKE UP NUTES - ADD ENOUGH TO BRING EC 2 (1400ppm)
ENSURE PH IS DEAD ON
WALK AWAY.....

Give em 1 week and they'll be shinin' again.

That is not very descriptive. What does the ppms consist of? In other words, what ferts are you using?
fox farm big bloom and tiger bloom and ph down

I think these ferts were intended more for soil and soilless growing rather than hydro applications. Probably too much phosphorus and not enough calcium and magnesium. Try switching ferts to something like gh 3 part, floranova bloom, or pbp bloom + cal mag plus. I just think odd things are going to happen with your current ferts. :friends:

I've heard that to "BBB"

What I understood was that the FF BB TB and GB are much better in soil because they need time to break down and become available to the plants. Whereas something like FloraNova is immediatly ready for your plants to use.

I'm sure I'll get corrected if I got that all wrong, but that was my understanding.

I picked up GH Floranova Grow and Bloom for my upcoming hydro grow, But will stick w/ FF gear for soil.

I hope that helps

They have instructions for use in hydro systems

Now the leaves around the flowering sites are getting dry, no signs of light bleaching, they are just drying out

ay man, shame to see your plants like this, they were looking so good!

Hard to tell what is wrong with your plants but there is something seriously wrong, like when they have been burnt. Not something minute like a lack of nutrients, that would just turn em a bit paler but I think blackvelvet might have a very good point about your nutrients since your plants are lacking some magnesium and look to have been burnt...

After closer inspection I am going to say that the burnt bits are not nutrient burns but like others have mentioned light burns. You said that you cannot put your light any further away. So what exactly did you have planned for the next few weeks as your plants are going to grow alot bigger still?

My suggestion is to get your hood a bit higher or cool the hood more with an oscillating fan to prevent any more leaves getting burnt.

Then add some magnesium to your feeding water to get rid of the brown and yellow mottling of the leaves.

I add 2 teaspoons of epsom salt to a 10 litre bucket of nutrient water in flowering but this amount will be different for different nutes (depending how much magnesium they are lacking)

Well, I think i know what it is, my roots are covered in a brown slime. Any ideas if they can be saved? It is pretty bad. all brown, even in the water, nasty.

I am going to let them go for now, but i will prolly end up chopping early so i can replace them with new babies. I'm not sure what to do :badday:

i would empty your res, fill with fresh water and add 1oz hydrogen peroxide per gallon and a mild >300 ppm bloom ferts to help ripen your plants up, harvesting early blows, try to let them go.

Edit: what is your reservoir water temperature? Next time get a chiller or get a diy chiller to cool your res so you wont have root rot!

again, what size space is that 600w in? just because your temps are stable doesn't mean you can't fry your plants...your temps could be in the 50's and you could still fry your plants with too many lumens...
