There's nothing worse then losing a part of your family especially the unconditional love of your own dog may he RIP.

Thank you so much everyone. It truly does feel like I've lost a family member. He died about 5-6 years before he should have. I'll reply to each of you soon. I just buried my friend. Here is Jack. I'll always remember his goofy ears (one was always down while the other remained straight).

These were about two weeks before he died.

Sounds like you were worthy of each other. Decades later the tears will still flow for the special ones.

That's rough bro.. but memories are forever.

I like to think we'll see our dogs again one day.

Until then I still cry like a little girl when one is lost.

Heal and remember.

Amen to that. You're not the only one that cries like a little girl.
Dogs were Gods' gift to man, pure and simple. That's why all dogs go to heaven. Stay strong, Tommy. I certainly can feel your pain.

I too am sorry for your loss.

I am however pleased at the quality of life that the two of you brought to each other during his lifetime. Cherish those memories and times in this time of difficulty. Im sure thats how he would have wanted you to remember him.

That's an awesome looking collie, sorry for your loss! I picked up an 8-week-old chocolate lab about a month ago, & she's already getting more attention than my wife. I can't even think about the inevitable.

I hope he's buried in a nice place with lots of flowers.

so sorry to hear of your loss Tommy, I hope your sorrows pass quickly brother. I know how you're feeling as I recently had to lay my little Kayla down to rest.

along with all of the love & joy that the bond with our pets allows us comes with that measure of sacrifice we all dread.

god bless you and Jack, I'm sure he adored you for giving him all the comforts and everything else he ever needed, he gave you all he could as well.

Sorry to hear about your grow-buddy passing, our dog was doing the same as yours, not eating, real labored breatheing, we took her in and she has cancer, and had a stroke, they gave her two weeks to live last may?? She's still hanging in there, I feel your pain, some days i think i should put her down but i see no real pain, she actually shit in her bed a couple days ago.Shit happens!!, she needed a bath anyway. We have a flowering dogwood out back in rememberance of our barking buddies, anyway, just know your in our prayers.

Sorry to hear of your loss. R.I.P Jack, may the fields be green, the bones be abundant and that sweet sweet smell of dank you so much enjoyed waft through the air.

RIP Jack
Lost my GSD this year she was 13yrs it hurts like nothing else can. Walked her everyday for those 13 years and it’s just not the same anymore. We had her cremated and brought her back home forever.
I wish you the best and it’s going to tough without him. I hope you get another dog because you’re a good owner and dogs need owners like you.

Just remember bro the reason your so sad is beacuse of all the happiness he brought to you. Dont let the sadness of his death prevent you from getting another dog. You sound like a great owner...

My sincere condolences from one animal lover to another

:comfort: Three years and I'm still hurting for my little Arden ... I know how you are feeling ... I could almost cry after reading this thread. But the pain seems to help keep his memory alive too ... never forget your animal friends ... they will never forget you. Someday you will see them again waiting for you just the other side of rainbow bridge. Peace and love,

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
