My first "real" grow

Hello again ... it's now the 5th day of the 9th week. The yellowing never went away and kinda sped up this week, seem to be losing lots of the fan leaves. Still watching the trichs and the only amber I see are on the little leaves sticking out of the buds. I can't say if the buds have gotten any fatter, but it's grown little chunks that I'm guessing are kind of fox tailing? The more the better I guess, lol.
Here's some pics from the past couple of days.

Oh yeah, I was able to finally figure out it's Northern Lights x Big Bud. Thanks for the comments and checking it out! :tiphat:

It's now at day 4-5 of week 10. I took the advice and started flushing it. Maybe it was the right time or caused it, but I finally saw some amber trichs on the buds. The pistils also seem to be mostly dying/dried up. The yellowing/dying leaves only increased...isn't it supposed to do that now though? Or should I still be seeing more healthy green ones? I guess I'll keep watching it for more signs of amber, was thinking of chopping at about 10-20% amber. Patience sure is a bitch, lol.

Day 4 of week 11. Been flushing since last week. What's left of the leaves are almost all yellow or dying off, but the trichs don't seem to have changed and are still mostly cloudy with almost no amber. I'm not sure how much longer to let it keep going. I've taken most of the lower smaller buds, but I'm starting to think I should take the rest pretty soon too. Or should I keep waiting for amber trichs?

Dude! What a baby. I like the shoe hanger method in the video. I'm just starting and after seeing this I 'm gunna try the buckets! First I have to build me a tent. My grow space is 12x12 x9 andd a 5x3 closet in a mobil home. Your suggestions sir would be appriciated.

It suddenly got to about 10% amber this past weekend! :jump: It's week 12 and I don't know if it could have kept going with all the dying leaves, but I decided to start chopping yesterday. Did my best attempt at trimming and on top of it I had to dig out dried up crumbly little fan leaves in some of the buds. I need to figure out how to avoid it so I don't have to deal with that crap again.

I couldn't finish and had to do the rest today. I had picked off a bunch of smaller buds over the past couple of weeks and water cured them. While the taste and smell, or lack thereof, is kinda weird, I must say I do enjoy the effect just the same. I'm gonna follow simon's method on curing everything but the loose smaler buds that I'll water cure.

Yesterday's chopping (top pic) weighed in at 340g, wet of course. The rest I got today came out to 228g. I didn't weigh the smaller buds I had taken before, but figure probably like 40g, giving a total of about 608g. I'm guestimating I should end up with at least 4oz dried. I hope more, but I'd be tickled seven shades of pink with less too, lol.

Big thanks go to the countless posters on these forums who've provided all sorts of information, ideas and inspiration that I've been able to learn from, even though I only lurked. I wouldn't be grinning from ear to ear over these buds otherwise, lol.

I really don't think I'm qualified to give any growing advice yet, lol. My only real suggestion is to read and learn as much as you can. There's a shit ton of grows and information on here that you can use as guides and learn from. It's really important when it comes to indoors to learn about temps, air, exhaust fans and all the other things that go into trying to make the right conditions. I learned after the fact all the things I did wrong when I tried growing before. If it wasn't for all the research and planning I did beforehand, I seriously doubt I would have grown this one as well as I think it turned out. It certainly made it easier once I got started for real though. I continue to learn and I hope I get to be as good as some of the growers here. And yes, I definitely suggest giving the hempy bucket a try, it's easy to use even for a beginner like me. Good luck on your growing, it is SO worth it!

Nice job!

I don't go by amber trichs. I don't believe in that method.

I wait for the pistols to retreat into the calxys and fox tailing.
