lol, I used to say that; "I hope I overgrow my space" now I find myself saying "I hope those lights don't burn my precious buds!"

Either way, nessecity is the father of invention. Good luck.

Nice grow. Can we get some pictures of your lighting setup?

Hi semperfi8548...

I will try and take a Pic with Lights out sometime soon.. Kind of tight space if you know what I mean.. I will post them in this Thread..

Anyway they are really simple.. Just 4 CFL's A mix of 2 26W 6500K and 2 26W 2700K 4 bulbs total

But since I have just 1.02 SF of space.. I guess this gives me 102W of light per 1 SF of space :joint:

Here are some Pics of the lighting system in my setup.

Notice in this Pic the small fan in the uppder left hand side.. I was having heat around 90 to 91.. When I added this fan to blow directly on the bulbs and also blowing towards the exaust fans, it reduced the heat to around 83 to 85 Avg..

And my Babies in the dark sleeping(Day 12).. I think I woke them with the flash.. :yeahthats

Your girls look a little hot/overwatered; :2cents:

(mostly the left one)

Yea I am watching the left one.. But she looks better then in the Pic.. Just yesterday the right one started reaching for the lights...(Is that good or bad???) In person they both still look good as far as I can tell..

I dont think I am over watering as I am using a meter and since these are 6 inch pots, I have been watering every other day since they dry out fast..

Maybe heat as it's 105 outside and hard to keep my house under 80 during th day...:mad::mad: I hate the HOT part of the Summer...

Nice set up!

I think I picked up the same case as you. Antec?
Just wondering how you light proofed it, the front of the case is having me scratching my head.:1help:

Thanks for the comments..

Not sure who Antec is..

But yes mine is not 100% light proof but for now that is ok as I am going to concentrate on Autos...

Oh and the back of the case, where the exhaust Fans are mounted is where most of the light leaks come from... How do people stop light leaks where fans are??? Without blocking the airway???

Hey man, found your thread. *Subscribed.

Have you considered running all 2600K when they go to Flower in just a few days?

edit:

I finally got around to getting the same setup as yours installed, my ambient room temp is around 75 to 78, the PC is showing a reading of 96+ degrees after an hour or so with the lights on.

I going to try and get lowes / homedepot to cut me some plexiglas, and I'm thinking of taking the two fans on the front, and moving one of those to the middle in the back, and one above the plexiglas all blowing out.

I'll let you know if it helps with the temps. *glad I didn't pop any seeds.

Do you mind if I post here, until we can figure something out?

edit 2:

I took the bottom fan that is mounted in the purple bracket from the front that was a intake, ripped up the wiring, took the scrog wire & flipped it. I then took the fan and put it basically touching the CFL's towards the front, blowing air back towards the exhaust.

The temps went from 95 in a room that is 78, to 84 - 87. After an hour of the lights being on. I then turned them off and the temp dropped with just the fans running around room temperature after an hour and change.

I'm still going to put up a piece of plexiglas later this afternoon, and cut a hole in the back.

Hey.. Glad You found my post.. Yes post in here as much as you want..

Yea that must have been a backwards fan or something because the highest my Temps ever got was 92 and it was damn hot in my house.. (82 to 85 sometimes during the hot part of the day)

So as stated, to solve my heat problems during the hot summer I:

a. run my lighes on from 6 pm to 10 am
b. The little hand help fan blowing right at my lights lower my temps anywhere from 3 to 6 degrees..

Glad you got your heat problem figured out.

Oh there is another interesting post in this Micro section that is our setup but this person is doing Hydro.. Suggest you subscribe to that one too.. The subject has the word Gnomes in it.. Someting like "follow me little gnomes"..

Have fun.. And keep us updated..

Oh.. Another thing I just got is something called Excellofizz.. Google it... Basically its CO2 for small setups.. I have read severaly places that if you have heat issues(85 or above) you can use CO2 to help your plants... You have to be careful with this stuff as our setup is very small.. We basically have 1.17 SQF of grow space in this case.. This Excellofizz is for 10 by 10 to 12 by 12 grow areas.. BUT they say you can break one up into smalled pieces for smaller areas.. So I will break these up into like 12 little pieces and then maybe try them like 3 or 4 days a week to see if it helps... You might want to check them out..
